Our home is a stunning, contemporary barn conversion with open plan living space, large entertaining kitchen and a large garden with views onto the Wolds. We have five bedrooms, the master with a full floor to ceiling window and en-suite, three further doubles (one with en-suite) and a small well equipped fitness room. Everything for a fantastic stay is provided with all of the usual home entertainment gadgets and gizmos, bikes, golf clubs, fishing equipment, fantastic 'cook's' kitchen and lots and lots of space to relax and chill out. Our private garden is very large with huge lawn, various seating and eating areas, a luxury hot tub and established trees and borders. The ideal luxury base from which to explore Yorkshire, the North of England and Scotland. We also have a two bedroom holiday cottage in a converted folly fort in Greystoke, Cumbria. This is available all year round and could be used to create a twin centre holiday. Excellent base for exploring the lakes.
We are a professional couple who own our own business in York. We have one 11 year old child who is with us part time and who would accompany us on some house swap holidays. We have a dog and a cat but the dog would stay with relatives during swaps. If you are a cat lover, we may leave our cat at home with you, if not, we'll make other arrangements. We love to travel and feel this might be a great way to experience new things and meet nice people.
Just 8 miles from York city centre, our village is a small hamlet of country cottages and quaint homes. There is a friendly village pub 1 mile away and the larger village of Stamford Bridge 1.5 miles away with a range of local shop and facilities. There is stunning English countryside in every direction and views onto the Yorkshire Wolds. The east coast sea side is just 30 miles away. Historic York is very popular with tourists all over the world but other places of interest include Leeds, Ripon, Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington, the Yorkshire Moors and Lake District all within a few hours drive.
