About our home

Our family home is a private detached house in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, a relaxed market town with excellent connections to London and Cambridge. We are 5 mins walk from the station which will get you to Kings Cross, London or Cambridge within 30 minutes.

Our house is set off a quiet road with complete privacy. The house is lived in so has a very well stocked kitchen - everything a budding chef will need. Ample eating/ relaxing/ entertaining space - kitchen diner, living room, utility and office (currently mini-gym) and cloak downstairs. Upstairs holds 3 double bedrooms, master with en-suite, family bath, excellent power showers, family bath with Jacuzzi bath. There is a further small bedroom that is used as a dressing room. We redecorated the house last year so everything is new but being a lived in house there is the occasional niggle - we don't have a show home but it suits us (there is the odd DIY job to do). Outside we have off street parking for a number of cars, BBQ, seating for several and garden with space to swing a cat but not quite a decent game of cricket. All the usual amenities - big screen TV, wifi, cable with sports, Netflix, PS 3, Nintendo, ipod doc, surround sound, board games etc etc...

Hitchin town centre is 10 mins walk down hill. It boasts a range of excellent restaurants and pubs, open countryside within minutes walk and the aforementioned links to London. Hitchin was recently rated number 9 places to live in UK by Sunday Times magazine so must have something going for it - we love it! We enjoy the Saturday markets, boutique shops, eateries and drinkeries. There is a nightclub, theatre and various sports clubs too. We also enjoy running and cycling around the numerous cycle paths and bridal ways locally. We have his and hers mountain bikes and road bikes to borrow if required. Hitchin station has regular trains to Kings Cross and Cambridge and the walk is less than 5 mins and costs Circa £20.00 for a day return. If you are on business this is an excellent spot. If you are shopping its not bad either. One stop down the track (5-10 mins) is a Leisure Park which holds a multiplex cinema, bowling and fast food if you need a fix. We are 20 mins in a taxi from Luton Airport and also rail links to Heathrow, Gatwick and Euro Tunnel to Europe.

Come and stay in a relaxed and peaceful environment. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
