ABOUT US: We are a friendly, professional couple with two children. We love and care for our home and are experienced home swappers who respect the homes that we have the pleasure of staying in. We will leave your home clean, tidy and cared for. We really enjoy this way of seeing the world and finding out about other cultures and areas.

OUR AREA:

Brighton and Hove is a fantastic place to visit and makes a great base to explore the South of England. The South Downs are a 25 minute walk from our front door, as is the Hove seafront. One of the largest parks in the city is a 10/15 minute walk away and moments from our home is the bus which will drop you into the busy city centre in under 20 minutes. We really do have the best of all worlds!

You can borrow our bikes to explore the local area. The cycle path along the seafront is a wonderful way to see the sights. Alternatively, walk 10 minutes from our home to Aldrington train station and you will be in London within 90 minutes with all that it has to offer. The historic town of Lewes is a 10 minute drive away and beyond it the beautiful Seven Sisters' heritage coastline.

Theme Parks including Chessington World of Adventures and Zoo are within just 1 hours' drive and we also have lots of National Trust and English Heritage sites within an easy drive from our home.

Brighton itself is a quirky, unique city known for its creative industries and sense of fun. The North Laine is a wonderful place to browse the independent shops and stalls and pick up one-off treasures. Brighton Pier is always a brilliant place to visit and the art galleries dotted along the seafront make the beachfront walk an interesting place to while away a few hours.

The Georgian splendour of Hove attracts millions of tourists every year and some of the Georgian Crescents even have their own festivals every year with live bands.

Brighton & Hove is a very family friendly place, with buggy-friendly buses and 3 fantastic playparks along the seafront complete with paddling pools. Just minutes from our home is Hove Park - one of the largest in the city. It has a climbing rock, large play area, tennis courts, cafe and even a minature steam railway which operates on selected days throughout the year.

There really is nowhere else quite like our city!

OUR HOME:

Our lovely, light and spacious family home was completely remodelled by us in 2010. Spread over three floors and with a 120 foot garden the house also has private off-street parking and is just moments from the bus stop which takes you into the city centre in under 20 minutes. The house is perfectly placed to get out into the beautiful South Downs, with the gateway to the National Park an easy 25 minute walk from our front door.

Our home has 5 bedrooms (4 of which will be available during swaps). All of the bedrooms are spacious and light. One of them has views to the sea and over the playing fields at the back of the house. There are two bathrooms as well as a groundfloor WC.

The large open plan kitchen/diner has doors opening onto our lovely, 120 foot garden with its patio and vegetable patch. You can also relax on our historic Brighton Railway Station bench - only one of a handful auctioned by the station last year!

Inside, sliding doors separate the dining area from the front living room with its open wood fire.

On the top floor, a kingsized bed can be separated into two singles if wished. Next to this room, our daughter's bedroom has a cabin bed with space underneath for a pull-out bed.
Also on the top floor is a shower room.

On the middle floor is the main family bathroom with bath and separate shower. Our son's bedroom has space underneath the cabin bed for a pull-out bed.

Our neighbours are very friendly and our neighbourhood is a safe and quiet residential area. Local shops, banks and a library are a couple of minutes' walk away.
