About our home

Our lovely 18th Century Grade 2 Listed Georgian cottage has been lovingly renovated for myself, my husband and our two boys. The property is colourful, quirky and pretty, with a large garden. We are situated in the village of Hurstpierpoint, 10 miles north of Brighton.

The village is walking distance from the cottage and has country pubs and lovely shops.

I am an Interior designer and my husband commutes to London daily. We have two teenage boys, Jacob & Caleb and there is a beautiful large garden and a great outdoor patio with a cedar clad hot tub, gas BBQ and comfortable sofa, chairs and table for eating outside.

We have 4 bedrooms, sleeping 8 in total, although bedroom 4 has a single bed with a pull out mattress for an extra guest. We have a large kitchen diner, which has beautiful oak trusses and bi-fold doors that open up onto the beautiful patio area, garden, hot tub and BBQ area. The kitchen has seating for 10 around the large table and the bi-fold doors completely fold back to the patio outside where there is additional seating. The view of our beautiful garden can be enjoyed from the kitchen while you eat.

The house has a lounge, a snug with a wood-burning stove, a dining room, a kitchen diner with concrete worktops, bifold doors and oak beams, 4 bedrooms, 1 family bathroom, 1 en-suite for the master bedroom, 1 downstairs cloakroom and a large office with glass doors that lead onto the garden.

Outside we have a large barn, which has been made into a teenage hangout/ gym. This has a large TV and Xbox in and a comfortable corner sofa, along with some gym equipment. It also has a mezzanine floor which can be used for outside sleepovers!

Apart form the garden, the house is fully equipped for families and children. We have loads of movies including Sky movies, Netflix and an Xbox one for the teenagers.

We have 2 very friendly cats, so you need to be fine with that. These need to be looked after if you stay at our home, (5 mins morning and night)

We also have a small lovable dog called maggie, which can stay in the home or can stay with friends if you are not keen. So far everyone who has swapped with us have loved our little dog Maggie.

London is just 1 hour by train and Brighton is only 15 minutes away with its quirky shops and typically English seaside. The shopping and restaurants are great in Brighton and there is always something fun going on there.

The South Downs are great for walks and there are plenty of castles and chocolate-box villages surrounding the area, including our own of Hurstpierpoint. You can walk to our village pub and enjoy a Sunday lunch whilst enjoying the beautiful English countryside.
Gatwick and Heathrow airports are only a short train or taxi ride away too. Gatwick is 30 mins and Heathrow is 1hr20 mins.

A cleaner is provided for 2 hours a week and will clean the house when you leave. The cleaner is are also available for you if you require more hours, which you can pay them directly. The house would be immaculate for your arrival with fresh, crisp bed linen and towels.

Most of all we would love to swap with an American, Caribbean, French or Spanish home :-) But we are open to all swaps! We are happy to swap in England, especially London for a city break, Cornwall, Devon, the New Forest and Norfolk. Anywhere with beautiful countryside and beaches!

We have done many successful swaps and are excited to see where the next destination takes us!
