About our home

Our cottage is a haven of peace and tranquility set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside a few miles outside the historic and academic centre of Oxford. The Thames river is minutes away with Blenheim Palace and Woodstock on our doorstep.
A housekeeper, cleaner and gardener are on hand to make your stay as easeful as possible.


More about us

  1. We are a professional couple with three adult children. One of our sons lives in Boston,Massachusetts and we often travel to the United States. We both have a connection with China in fact, it is where we met, in Beijing

  2. Andrew is semi retired and was in finance . Susan is a TV anchor and Radio chat show host. Susan has a large study in the garden where she does much of her writing.

  3. We love our garden and have spent a great deal of time and money designing it. Andrew read history at Oxford and we have a great interest in books, theatre and movies.

Where is it?


Our cottage is tucked away at the end of a rural lane in the charming village of Eynsham which is of important historical interest. It is the quintessentially English village with organic butcher, bakery ,post office and a cluster of quaint pubs.
It is minutes away from the town of Oxford and the market town of Witney.

Buzzy restaurants
Le Manoir des Quatre Saisons is not far and there are other Michelin star pubs like the Nut Tree also a short distance
Cool bars
Oxford has great bars and there is a frequent bus the S1 which can take you there in minutes if you want to drink and leave the car behind
Cozy cafés
In the middle of the village there are two great cafes selling organic bakery
Retail therapy
Oxford and Witney both have markets for fresh produce and there is a large mall,Westfield for the more serious well as great clothes shops and a plethora of other small unique shops. Oxford has Westfield which is a mall with cinemas restaurants and great views overlooking the city of Oxford.
Bit of culture
Oxford has some of the oldest University Colleges in the world and you can walk around the colleges. There is also the Ashmolean museum regarded as one of UK's greatest. and
Walks in the park
There are ancient woods to walk through and the River Thames runs alongside our village so yu can do some great walks along the river and follow the tow path
Spot of exercise
We have many sports clubs and gyms which are all great: Pirate Gym, Witney Lakes Resort, ...
Day tripping
London, of course, is an hour away on the train. Stratford on Avon, home of William Shakespeare, is a 40m drive.
