An ideal retreat for relaxing or exploring.
Situated within the Southern edge of the Lake District National Park, Rose Cottage is set in its own grounds of 1/2 an acre of woodland. This location makes Rose Cottage the perfect base for exploring the many of places of interest of the South Lakes, whether by foot, cycle, car or train.
Being near Grange over Sands, just 15 minutes from the M6 and just a mile off the A590, it is also ideal for exploring further afield. The cottage has all the facilities you need and sleeps 2 adults and up to 2 children - therefore ideal for couples and families with young children. (Sorry - no pets or smokers).
Andrew and Katrina bought the cottage as a second home in 2000 for themselves and their two young children.
They use it mainly as a base for sailing on Windermere and exploring the rich landscape of the Lakes.
The 100 year old cottage has been tastefully modernised internally and combines all that is needed for perfectly relaxed holiday living. The cottage boasts a pleasant and secluded al fresco eating area with an all weather barbecue.
The cottage has been let commercially since the spring of 2005 to excellent reviews.
The English Lake District offers a wealth of beauty and outdoor activities. See our website:

Just 2 miles from Rose Cottage - one of the rare towns in England that still manages to retain its Victorian charm. Grange has managed to maintain many of its independent specialist shops and a visit to them is a must. Don't forget a walk along the promenade or a trip to the Berners swimming pool with its spectacular views across the bay.
Close by â a pub serving food (60 yards - hidden away though the woods!), woodland and coastal walks, Cumbria Cycle Way, the nearby Netherwood Hotel with its indoor spa pool and Jacuzzi, an ice-cream farm.
Get up early and there is a good chance you will see one or more of the deer that pass through the grounds. Barn owls, woodpeckers, jays, nut hatches are among the numerous types of birds that are frequent visitors - especially if you leave out some food on the bird table - watch the squirrels don't eat it first though!
It is just 12 miles to Lake Windermere, for the steamer and steam railway (used as a setting for the film of Swallows and Amazons).
The nearby National Trust woodlands are perfect for a stroll. A short drive away, the woodlands of Witherslack provide for a longer walk - or even a whole day out. Also there are several walks down to the coast line. Rose Cottage is situated on the Cumbrian Way.
