About our home

We live in a large 200 year old farmhouse in the Scottish lowlands. 15 minutes from the sea, and 10 minutes from a picturesque fishing town with shops art galleries and a swimming pool.

The two local towns are Kirkcudbright - which markets itself as Scotland's artist town, and Castle Douglas - a 'food' town, with lots of local specialist food shops.

The nearest beach is complete with two islands a few hundred metres offshore that you can camp on.

It is worth knowing that there are no trespass laws in Scotland, and that wild camping is therefore uncomplicated and abundant.

We also have some of the best mountain biking in the world - the '7 Stanes' - google it!

More about us

  1. We're a large family with 6 children age 3-14

  2. Him - doctor working in rural medicine. Her - art teacher, now full time mum

  3. We love the outdoors, and chose to live where we do because of that
