“We can heartily recommend Vicky and Matt, for their home and their location. Vicky is very organized and enthusiastic about her home and area, with good reason. Their address in Leeds is very well situated for exploring a most beautiful part of England. She and Matt have a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped home. They leave detailed maps and instructions, and have lovely helpful neighbours. The garden is lush -- and if you plan your trip right, you can pick fresh raspberries for yourself each day. They left our home spotless, with everything in place. They even took wonderful care of our cat. If you are contacted by Vicky and Matt about an exchange, consider yourself lucky.”

As a host (1)More about us
-
We are a university chaplain and researcher looking to travel the world on a budget! Successful exchanges to South Africa and Australia means we have caught the travel bug (and can provide excellent references). We have been in Leeds for 11 years and absolutely love it and our lovely home. We particularly appreciate all of the outdoor spaces and are quite energetic. Vicky is a runner and so knows all the best off-road routes for running (or walking) in the area. Matt loves sailing. We are both experienced hikers and are never happier than when up a mountain or on a long-distance walk (unless it's raining of course!) We wouldn't even consider living anywhere else!

Neighbourhood
Restaurants, shopping and stunning scenery all on the doorstep of this 4 bedroomed 1930s semi-detached home in a quiet area to the north of Leeds. Leeds is a vibrant city with upmarket shopping, nightlife and restaurants. Several restaurants are literally round the corner. We are very close (5 minutes walk) to Headingley Stadium if your interests include watching cricket or rugby. Easy access to other historic towns & cities such as York, Harrogate, Manchester, Durham. Possibly the best feature is the fantastic countryside in the form of the Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors. Peak District, Lake District and Yorkshire Coast also easily accessible. If you're feeling particularly energetic you can walk to Otley (10 miles), Ilkley (19 miles) or even the Lake District (84 miles) using wonderful off-road footpaths. Alternatively public transport links include a train station within 15 minutes walk and frequent buses within 5 minutes! We love our area and have loads of information about it to share with you.
