About our home

A rural retreat on 4.5 acres, the Old Mill is set on the Banwy river just outside of the picturesque market town of Welshpool.

The river has Salmon, trout and greyling so perfect for both fly and course fishing. .. the river runs the length of the property so there is plenty of space to find your perfect place to sit and read a book..or of course go fishing.

There is plenty of walks you can do..including to the local and historic pub The Cann Office.
We have mountains around us and whichever way you look, breathtaking scenery.

There is also many great day trips and things to do in the local area if you can drag yourself away from the river !

Where is it?

20 minutes from Welshpool you take the coastal road heading to Dolgellau ... following the steam train tracks all the way towards Llanfair Caereinion... .. this is our closest village with 2 pubs, hotel, butchers, shop, drs , cafe etc. We are deep in Mid Wales, the scenery is stunning hills, mountains and many valleys. we are nit far from snowdonia, and other popular tourist destinatoon towns in Wales such as Dolgellau, Porth Madog, Portmerion and all the Beautiful Beaches in nimid - north Wales .

The village of Llanfer is super sleepy with only a garage, a village hall, a pub and there’s a great little vintage cafe that doubles up as a shop for any essentials. The house is super quiet and tucked away with only one neighbouring house in view. The millers cottage where the man who ran the old mill lived .
