About our home

Our modern town house is in a beautiful Victorian-era conservation area, in Kennington. The Houses of Parliament and London Eye are fifteen minutes walk, with St.James Park, Downing Street, Whitehall and Trafalgar Square around twenty minutes walk. There are very few houses of this size in such a central location! See the photo taken from the top floor - you can see all central London landmarks - Big Ben is so close, you can see what time it is on the clock face, and hear the bell ring each hour! Kennington has several excellent restaurants, bars and pubs. Lots of politicians live in our area because it is so convenient for Parliament, and Kevin Spacey lives nearby as we are a few minutes walk from the Old Vic theatre!

We have secure (gated) off-street parking and a secluded courtyard garden. The house is on a very quiet street, with no through traffic - it's as quiet as a small country village! All the properties on our street are houses of a similar size.

On the ground floor the house has large sitting room, with a professionally installed home cinema set-up, with retractable 90 inch projector screen, Sony HD/3D projector, Sky satellite TV, Apple TV, Blu Ray and Sonos. Also on the ground floor you will find a large 33m2 dine-in kitchen, with hand-made bespoke solid wood units, with four Siemens ovens, 5 burner hob, American-style fridge freezer, breakfast bar, dining table for up to 12 people, TV, Sky HD, Apple TV, Bluray and built-in Sonos. The ground floor also has a bathroom and a separate utility room with washer and dryer.

There are folding glass doors from the kitchen to the south-east facing garden, where you will find a terrace with seating for up to 8 people.

Upstairs we have a large sitting room at the front of the house, with two double sofas. We use this room as a study as it's cosy, yet flooded with light. One of the sofas also serves as a double sofa bed. Also on this floor there are two bathrooms (one with a beautiful free-standing bath), and another double bedroom.

On the next floor we have the master bedroom, a further double bedroom (which we use as a gym area, complete with treadmill, exercise bike, yoga mats and weights) and two further bathrooms (one with bath).

On the top floor there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with bath. We use one of the top floor rooms as a third sitting room - as the views of central London are spectacular!

In total the house measures 215m2. There are four double beds (including the the sofa bed) so the house can sleep up to eight.

We have a lovely cat and other pets would not be welcomed. We are interested in swaps only, for homes of a similar calibre.
