About our home

Built in the late 1920s, our home has spacious rooms, a south facing garden, a drive for the car and a sunroom leading onto a terrace at the back, stretching into the garden making it perfect for outdoor living and entertaining. We've lived here for 40 years and love it. We have a parade of shops at the bottom of the street, yet for more variety there's a diverse shopping area in Muswell Hill itself and nearby Crouch End. We live opposite the church, so expect church bells on a Sunday, but they wake you up in time to go to the Farmers Market, two minutes walk away for delicious local cheeses, fruit and vegetables, home-made sausages and delicious ethnic food and drink.
We have great transport links which means you can be in the heart of the West End of London in 25 minutes. A shuttle bus runs along the bottom of the street to Finsbury Park tube station where the Victoria or Piccadilly lines can take you anywhere you want to go.
We have two cars, the BMW in the picture, plus a buzzy little Nissan micra that is much better for London. In fact, we use neither on a regular basis, preferring public transport.
While I have stipulated that the house is just for grown-ups we are happy to welcome children who are well behaved and can be relied upon to respect our property. We are grandparents and have kept our house very child friendly for that reason, so grand parents who are coming to London to catch up with family, including children, are very welcome. I would need reassurance from parents who would be bringing their children as members of the traveling party.
We don't accept smokers and expect fellow exchangers to ask guests who smoke to do so in the garden and remove their cigarette stubs responsibly.
Muswell Hill has just been voted one of the best places in London to live, as it combines ease of transport to the centre with a lively, art-loving neighbourhood alongside many parks and woods. There are many gyms nearby, two are walking distance, we boast 5 tennis clubs within 5 minutes of our house and there are two golf clubs nearby. We hope that fellow exchangers will find our city and our neighbourhood as interesting as we do.
