“This was a great swap! Nik and Fiona were so helpful and responsive. The flat is in a great location, literally a walk to Greenwich and the Thames. Blackheath is a sweet little village with everything you need for your stay including wonderful baked goods, grocery, and a short walk to the train station where you can go anywhere in England. In the flat, everything is very modern and comfortable. It is a great place to come back to after a long day of touring, and it’s just steps away from good restaurants. We felt very confident during our stay that our own place was being cared for, as our hosts were very communicative and you can just tell from how they care for their place in London that you have no worries about sharing your own space with them. It was a wonderful trip and we hope to do it again some day. ”
“We had a great 2 weeks at this lovely central London flat. It was clean and modern but cosy and we were able to walk to theaters, restaurants, museums and other London sites. Would happily recommend this flat to anyone wanting to explore London. Thanks Nik and Kathy!”
Where is it?
We do not want anyone to be disappointed if they swap or us so we like to be absolutely honest about the apartment:
Size: This apartment is 36.2 sq metres or 390 square feet but we have no problems living in it.
Sleeping: It has a folding bed which requires a bit of strength to lift although you can easily leave the bed down, it has a dining table or desk that automatically folds down as you lift the bed and there is a separate breakfast bar table and stools where you can eat if you like.
Transport: There is no underground station in Blackheath but the overland station (see map) is literally seconds from your front door (you can use the London Oyster travel card, so it is just like using the underground) and links to London Bridge in just 15-20 minutes and also Charing Cross Station (right next to Trafalgar Square), Cannon Street in the City of London in less time. The station also connects to Waterloo East next to Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye.
Apartment block: The apartment is on the second floor and there is no elevator or lift so it is not suitable for people with an illness or disability that would stop them climbing two short staircases.
Position: This is a huge plus, Blackheath is charming, safe and very fashionable – the Blackheath ‘triangle’ which has fabulous fine dining, cheaper eats, a micro brewery, a fishmonger and fish restaurant, lots of pubs and bars of all different types and a fabulous local at the end of our block, is at the end of your own private walkway. The heath is beautiful and the walk to Greenwich, which is a world-class attraction and is full of more bars and restaurants, is a wonderful experience.
The apartment is not suitable for young children.
That’s about it so get in touch for more details.
