About our home

Our flat is bright, stylish and modern. Access is via a lift on the 13th floor providing panoramic views across central and south London. There is an open plan spacious lounge/dinning/kitchen area. There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size double bed and wardrobe. The second bedroom has a comfortable double sofa bed, and is usually used as an office space with computer and internet access.
The bathroom facilities include a bath and shower with separate toilet room.
The flat is centrally heated with double glazed windows.

We are John and Giovanni a married gay couple, in our late 40s. John is a social worker and Giovanni is a gardener/artist. We enjoy travel when we can afford to get away, and have never done a home exchange before but heard positive reports about it and so would like to try it. We enjoy nature, eating out, cinema and contemporary art.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in central Brixton, which is a vibrant, funky area of Inner London. Brixton high street offers a range of services and shopping opportunities. In particular, Brixton Market offers a vast selection of food stalls from all over the world, plus a burgeoning array of cafes, vintage and modern design shops. In the evenings, the Market turns into a foodie’s heaven and has many interesting restaurants, including Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Caribbean, Thai, nouvelle British and many more. On Sundays, there is a farmers market. Brixton has an established nightlife. There is five-screen art house cinema, various clubs and music venues, and endless bars and pubs. There are sports and leisure facilities including a swimming pool less than 3 minutes walk from the flat at Brixton’s Recreation Centre, plus an Ice skating rink. Nearby is Brockwell Park, which is one of the best green open spaces in inner London, that offers a range of facilities, including an outdoor pool, tennis courts and community gardens.
Brixton is well- served by public transport. Brixton tube and railway stations are within 5-minutes walk of the flat and allow swift access to central London and other destinations. There are also countless bus routes offering access across London.
