About our home

This is a ground floor flat with garden located at the back of a Georgian style listed building with approximately 30 flats. While the facade looks old, it is in fact a 1970s reconstruction of the original frontage.

The flat is not huge (approx 50 square metres), with bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom, all accessed through a small entrance hall. The great bonus is a private courtyard garden, itself almost as large as the flat, with a terrace and various shrubs and plants, and an ivy covered back wall.

The bedroom has a double bed. In the sitting room, the sofa folds out as a bed for the occasional overnight guest.

Overall it is fully equipped for efficient and comfortable living for one or two people, and is in a fantastic location with many of the key sights within walking distance.

More about us

  1. I am Brian, a single British man in my 50s. I divide my time between my native city of London and my holiday home in the south of France. I speak French and very much enjoy life in this very picturesque small town, where people are friendly and easy going, the beach is close, the food tasty and the wine plentiful.

Where is it?

Bloomsbury is in the heart of London (postcode West Central - WC1), and has the capital city buzz of being right in the centre of town, even though the flat and garden, being at the back of the building, are quite quiet. The locality has many cafes, bars and restaurants, and the Brunswick Centre (5 minutes) has all the shops you might need, including a good sized branch of upmarket supermarket chain Waitrose.

The British Museum and King's Cross St Pancras are around 10 minutes' walk away, Oxford Street 15 minutes and Soho or Piccadilly Circus around 20 minutes.

Nearest tube is Russell Square (5 minutes, direct access to Heathrow), while Holborn, Goodge Street, Kings Cross St Pancras, Euston, Euston Square are all around 10 minutes on foot. Gatwick and Luton airports (for many flights to the Continent) can be accessed directly from St Pancras International.

And, talking of transport, if it's too far on foot, there are the famous London buses and taxis. Don't even think of hiring a car!
