For 2013 we are considering a swap in Greece last week August/first week in September, and Wellington NZ and Melbourne AU over Christmas, Bali in January. Would also consider shorter swaps in France, Italy and Spain.
Our beautiful Victorian four story terrace home was built circa 1870, and retains many of the traditional features of that time, whilst also providing all mod cons. The house is positioned in a very central London location, close to Westfield (where you can lose yourself in one of the biggest and newest shopping centres in Europe) and all transport links (Tube/Bus/Train/'M' roads). Central London CBD and all it's familiar historical landmarks are a quick tube ride away, so our home is an ideal base to discover London and surrounds. Shepherds bush itself is a busy, lively, multi-cultural suburb, but the house is located in a quiet street off the main thoroughfare. There are dozens of fantastic lively restaurants, bars, night clubs and theatres literally right on our doorstep.
This traditional four story family residence provides a spacious and welcoming environment, traditional features combined with modern living. The ground floor features polished wood floors, generously appointed formal dining room with high ceilings and feature fire place combined with reception living, and kitchen with small breakfast bar. The kitchen has an enormous gas oven (Arga copy), dishwasher, and also houses the laundry facilities (separate washer and dryer) which is pretty typical for London properties. For convenience there is a ground floor toilet, and a further toilet on the landing between ground and first floor.
Upstairs on the first floor there is a library/reading room (which can be converted into a further bedroom with pull out sofa (double) bed if desired). Our beautiful spacious lounge is also located on the first floor, with polished wood floors, high ceilings, bay window, internal shutters, and feature fireplace. If you get tired or bored of trekking around the London sights, our 43 inch TV with well over 1000 DVDs and dozens of TV shows to choose from should keep you entertained.
On the second floor there are two newly renovated generous sized light and airy bedrooms, with carpeted flooring and built in robes (one with a 'glamour cabinet'). Both bedrooms have Queen size beds (Standard King in the UK). The front bedroom spans the entire front of the house, is decorated in neutral tones with aqua/cream soft furnishings. Off to the side of this bedroom, in a separate alcove is the study/office. The back bedroom is nicely proportioned and neatly appointed with white furniture and decorated in neutrals. The family bathroom is also located on the second floor and has a two person double ended bath with dual shower heads overhead, heated towel rail, tiled and decorated in white/neutral tones, with tiled floors.
Our fantastic, modern and very spacious master bedroom (also newly renovated), with built in wardrobes and bedroom furniture is located on the third floor. The bed is Queen size but Italian design so a little larger than normal and has a memory foam mattress. The master bedroom is decorated in neutral tones with burgundy soft furnishings, has luxurious thick carpet, skylight, and window shutters. This room has it's own modern ensuite shower room with multi head/jet shower, heated towel rail, and white wooden floor.
Other features include a small very private deck and garden to the rear of the house, remote/double garage (we have a BBQ, tennis rackets which come in handy for a game of tennis at the open air courts at the end of our street, and 3x bicycles for warmer weather!), Sonos multizone music system, wifi and desktop for those desperate for a little technology, gas central heating and monitored alarm system. There is an additional drop down sofa in the lounge that can be used as a double bed if desired (this in addition to the library/reading room sofa bed brings the sleeps to 10).
