About our home

You would be made very welcome in our family home. It is a beautiful corner house located in a quiet, street in North London close to ‘trendy’ Shoreditch. It dates back to the early Victorian period. Being a corner house it’s interior is very quirky as the rooms are at an angle.

The house has 3 reception rooms – two are interconnected rooms on the ground floor which, combined, make a large social space. The ceilings are very high on this floor and the rooms have Victorian cornicing. The third reception area is in the basement, next to the kitchen and dining area.

There are 4 bedrooms. A utility room in the basement, with dishwasher, washing machine and drier. The utility leads through to a small but perfectly formed basement garden. There is also an extra toilet in the basement. The house has 2 bathrooms. A family bathroom with a shower and bath and an additional en-suite bath room on the top floor featuring a ‘stand alone’ bath.

Our home will comfortably sleep 8. There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor – 1 with a double bed and 2 with children’s bunks (one of which has an extra fold out bed that can be turned back into a sofa). The main bathroom is also on this floor.

The house has recently benefitted from a top floor conversion consisting of a master bedroom/walk-in wardrobe with a large en-suite bathroom leading to a small balcony.

It is furnished and decorated to a very high standard, clean and full of character. We are both designers and have and interesting range of art and artefacts around the house.

We provide all bedding and towels - please let us know in advance what you require i.e. cot/bedding.

There will always be one of us to meet and greet you - and hand over a manual of the house and info on the area. The style varies between vintage eclectic and modern. It is also fully equipped with WiFi broadband internet access, Cable TV, etc. It has recently been used for film shoots including ITV drama Whitechapel
and Homes International, a popular American series.

The location has good transport links to the City and Central London’s West End, either by rail or bus. The Southbank Arts Centre, Tate Modern, London Eye, London Bridge, and Waterloo are all easy connections – approx 30 mins by bus. The Natural History Museum, V&A and Science Museum are essential tourist attractions and can be reached by rail. Closest overground is 8 minutes walk and the line takes you direct to Liverpool Street. If you are travelling to the Olympic site in Stratford it is 20 minutes door to door by overground from Dalston (4 stops). We are a short ride from the Business Design Centre at the Angel Islington, famous for it’s good local restaurants and fashionable boutiques.

The bus links are under a 2 minute walk. Local cinema 6 minute walk. A local 24 hour Tesco mini market just off Newington green.
