It is a large house by London standards, (c. 280 sq m.) with an average-sized garden (ie fairly small), facing south, with swings and a kids' castle and a patio.
All rooms are spacious and high-ceilinged, in the Edwardian style of 1910. Lots of period features, eg ornate fireplaces, stained glass. But completely modernised and well-maintained.
Large tiled entrance hall, with a bar-football/table-football/bebe-foot table in the corner; wide staircase. Large sitting room with a TV and a piano; dining room with 3 computer workstations; breakfast room with TV and Playstation; modern kitchen. Upstairs: 5 spacoius bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, each with both bath and shower; computer shack.
It is semi-detached, like most Edwardian houses.
Parking in front forecourt, or on street (no restrictions, and always spaces - which is nowadays very rare as close in to London as we are!)
We are in Ealing, known as "The queen of the suburbs", in the western part of London. Our home is at the eastern edge of Ealing, so we are half way between Heathrow Airport and the centre of London.
The actual area around our home is pleasant and quiet, short-tree-lined roads, yet shops around the corner. Joggers often choose these streets. Not many cars use our road, since we are not on a main road, nor on a short-cut.
Access to central London is ideal, for all the sites and the West End etc. We are 5 mins walk from one Tube station, and 8 mins walk from another on a different Tube line; and buses pass the end of the road. There are public tennis courts 10 mins walk away.
We are a family, Mum (Teresa), Dad (Bob), Emma (14), James (12), Nicholas (10), Tom (6). Typically English (except that we're Catholic!).
The kids like all the usual kids' stuff, especially football, music and computers. They're learning French.
Mum loves gardening, and art-galleries. Dad loves boardgames, philosophy, and languages (fairly fluent in French and German). Bob is in advertising, Teresa in Market Research.
We have 2 easy-going cats, who would probably have to stay here and be fed.
