About our home

We are looking for a houseswap to Berlin for February 2014 - 15.02 - 22.02

We live in a large 4 bedroom Victorian house, in central London, recently refurbished to a very high spec. Our nearest tube station is Turn Pike Lane, which is 15 minutes from central London and a 5 minute walk from our house. Turn Pike Lane is great for shopping, it's got all the high street retail store and our neighbouring borough, Crouch End has some fab boutique shops and it a really good buzz for restaurants & bars.

We ourselves have twin girls aged 5, so the house is already kitted out with kids toys and our house is minutes from 3-4 parks where there are lots of playgrounds, football pitches & tennis courts, should you or the kids want some fresh air!

Where is it?

Buzzy restaurants
Loads in the area. My favourite is Mosaica The Chocolate Factory or The Jashan for a great indian. There's also over 20 great turkish restuarants to choose from, all maximum 5-10 minutes from the house. If you fancy venturing a bit further, a 15 minute wak to Crouch End will open up lots more possibilities from cool gastro pubs to thai canteens & great sushi bars.
Cool bars
The Kings Head in Crouch End or The Faltering Fullback in Finsbury Park
Cozy cafés
My favourite is the cafe in downhills park - 10 minutes from the house and also incredibly reasonable or Cafeteria by Turnpike Lane tube station
Retail therapy
For great bargains, just walk down the high street, minutes from our house. For a special occassion, I'd go to Crouch End or Muswell Hill - both of which have some great boutiques. And then there's always Oxford Street or Covent Garden - around 15 - 20 minutes by tube.
Bit of culture
Whatever you fancy - it's London so you can be sure to find what you're looking for. One of my favourites is The Tate Modern or Greenwich, Camden or Spittal Fields Markets
Walks in the park
Alexander Palace is a 20 minute walk from our house and you get an amazing view over London on a clear day. Otherwise I'd recommend Hampstead Heath or Parliament Hill for walks.
Spot of exercise
If you are into jogging, there are lots of routes we could recommend. We also have 3 adult & 2 kids bikes, so if you fancied a family cycle, maybe along the canals, we could direct you.
Day tripping
Oxtord, Cambridge & Windsor are all possible - however we'd recommend staying in London as there's so much to do and see.
