About our home

Our family home is a three-storey Victorian townhouse. It sleeps up to 6 people. We will make all or part of the house available depending on the exchange. The house has a large living room with a period fireplace and a piano. Our kitchen is spacious and highly functional - fantastic for cooking. We have a nice garden with table and chairs where you can eat and a roof terrace. We also have a large table tennis. We have no pets and cannot do exchanges with pet owners - sorry! We are tied to our sons' school holidays so please bear in mind our availability before contacting us as we can currently only do exchanges on the following dates (9-28 August 2020 and 18 December 2020-2 January 2021 both simultaneously and non-simultaneously)

Neighbourhood

We love our neighbourhood and so have our guests!
We live in a very quiet street in a family friendly, up and coming neighbourhood close to the financial centres of Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf. The house is near Victoria Park, one of the oldest public parks in London. Very close to the house is also the pictoresque Regent's Canal, ideal for cycling to many of London's most attractive tourist hotspots, including Camden, Regent's Park and Maida Vale. The popular Brick Lane, Shoreditch, and Columbia Road flower market, and Broadway farmer's market, each with many bars and restaurants and lovely shops, are all within easy reach of the house (on foot or by bike). We are also close to the the Westfield shopping centre and the Queen Elizabeth Park, the former Olympic centre (only one tube stop or a short bus drive, or a 20 minute walk).

Transport
Our house is centrally located and it's well served by London underground and buses. It is about 7 minutes' walk from the Central Line, District, Hammersmith and Circle Lines, in zone 2. Liverpool Street can be reached in 5 minutes by tube and Oxford Circus is only 20 minutes away. The house is also close to popular bus routes such as the Number 8 that runs through St Paul's and Oxford Street to Victoria. It is also well served by cycle routes, for example, the Regent's Canal towpath which connects the area to Islington, Camden, Regent's Park and Canary Wharf. Greenwich, for example, can be easily reached by bike and then by a short, but spectacular boat trip on the Thames.

Restaurants, bars, pubs and art

Our area is vibrant and multicultural, boasting art galleries, shops and nice restaurants and bars.

Close to our home are plenty of galleries and museums, including the V&A Childhood Museum, the Whitechapel Gallery, and the Tate Modern, which is only a few tube stops away. There are also cinemas and cultural centres nearby.

Other major London attractions are the Tower of London and St Paul's Cathedral, both reachable in 15 minutes by tube or bus.
