About our home

OUR HOUSE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE THIS YEAR. BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST SWAPS FOR SUMMER 2019. WE HAVE NO POINTS LEFT TO USE.

Lovely beautifully-light 4 bed Islington Georgian family home. The house has high ceilings and big windows and widens out at the back. Our family home is on a large, historic Islington square, a lovely, quiet enclave in the heart of our great world city and close to all travel, shops and restaurants at fashionable Kings Cross and chic Islington. We have a beautiful sunny 120 ft garden. The house is generally only available during the school holiday season, especially during the summer time.
This is a beautiful naturally-lit Georgian terraced house built in 1840 with five floors and 2500 square foot of space. Our four children are of school/university age so this is definitely a family home, not a second home. The house has big windows, high ceilings and period detail. The four bedrooms are : a double with super king size bed; a double; twin with two singles; a large single room with single bed. The baths in the two bathrooms have shower attachments but do not have stand-alone showers. We have another separate shower area. On the ground floor we have a double reception room and there is big basement with a state of the art German-designed kitchen/diner leading directly into a 120 foot long sunny south west facing garden which has comfy garden furniture, a football net for any young players and a table tennis table. We provide guest towels, fresh sheets and nice toiletries. We have one small dog although he will not be here during your stay (unless you want him to). Thornhill Square has a big playground with a kids' roundabout, slide and swings. Two minutes walk from the front door there is a public swimming pool as well as a selection of supermarkets and convenience stores. We are a ten minute walk or short bus ride to the newly modernised Kings Cross/St Pancras transport hub which is now London's main terminus. From here you can travel to all of London's world class attractions and there are direct links to three of London's major airports. We are in the district of Islington, with its many designer shops, chic restaurants and bars. London, with its renowned galleries, museums, theatres and heritage architecture, is now the world's most visited city. There is no visitor parking in the area but, like us, you should not need a car. Black cabs are easily available as are Uber cars. Our house is a wonderful springboard for entry into this great capital.
