We recently renovated and modernised our three-bedroom Victorian terraced family house. The location is very quiet as it is situated on a closed-access street which means no passing traffic, and the house also backs onto a park which has a great children's playground.
The ground floor of the house consists of two large spaces; the living room and kitchen. French-doors separate the rooms and we have heated wooden floors throughout. Large glass doors open out at the rear of the house into the garden. Skylights windows and extensions out and up create a tremendous feeling of space with lots of natural light.
The two double bedrooms are situated on the first and second floors. There is also a third bedroom which can sleep one adult and one child. There are wooden floors throughout the first floor.
The contemporarily designed family bathroom has underfloor heating, large bath, walk-in shower, heated mirror, hairdryer and a skylight. There is also a cloakroom/toilet on the ground floor.
The neighbourhood is in Islington, Inner London. It has excellent transport links, taking thirty minutes journey to the city centre.
There is a bus-stop 2 minutes walk from the house which takes you to direct to the Eurostar (St Pancras International) in 30 minutes, or to the British Museum in 40 minutes, or Trafalgar Square in 50 minutes. There is also a direct bus north to the historic Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath which takes 20 minutes.
We are 15 minutes walk from Finsbury Park train station which is on the Underground network and also National Rail networks. Victoria Line or Piccadilly Line takes 15 minutes to travel into the very centre of London, i.e Oxford Street/Piccadilly Circus. Using the National rail line it take 8 minutes to get to the East End/the City of London, this line also links to the historic city of Cambridge and Welwyn Garden City.
Our house is situated 5 minutes walk away from some excellent restaurants and stores.
We're a married couple with two girls, 4 and 6 year old.
We both work in television.
