We are both working professionals, I was a BA stewardess for some time and have fortunately travelled to many wonderful places. My partner is self employed in the music and property industries. We have both lived in South West London for some considerable time and are huge fans of this area, although not from here initially. Battersea is a great place for families or couples who want to enjoy the beauty of Clapham & Wandsworth Common, Battersea Park and the River Thames.
Our neighbourhood, Clapham junction/Battersea Rise has wide open spaces of both leafy Clapham and Wandsworth Commons just moments away, with excellent independent shops, trendy bars, gourmet restaurants located on the fashionable Northcote road, local shopping includes Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, butchers, deli's and weekend French Market stalls. Also nearby is Lavender Hill and St.John's Hill with many more restaurants and bars.
Our location provides excellent access to London's West End, the Kings Road, Chelsea, Wimbledon village and the South coast of England. Public transport is a short walk away at Clapham Junction with railway station direct to London Victoria/central London and London Gatwick is 35 mins by train. Car service to both Gatwick and Heathrow are approx 40 mins by taxi (Fare approx £40). There are also many bus services which take you to the King's road and Central London. As well as the "Boris bikes" across the road which you rent and can see London by cycling, a great route is to follow the tow path along the Thames.
Wimbledon Village is 10 mins away by car, where you will find the famous Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon Common and village..
