The house is semi-detached Victorian in the heart of Chiswick, close to two Underground stations and local buses. We have a very attractive Garden and hardstanding at the front for a car. There are two double bedrooms and a twin and 3 bathrooms. A double through lounge and a well equipped kitchen, about 2000 squ.ft in total. The street, probably the nicest is the area is occupied by mainly professionals including two theatre directors, a number of financial people and the odd publishere - all younger than ourselves but all very friendly. The include Americans, Canadians, French and all seem happy with Chiswick.
The High Road with a huge variation of restaurants and shops is about a 7 minute walk away, across the Green and past the Church, rather villagy in fact. The Underground stations, Chiswick Park, Gunnespary Park and Acton Green are all within a short walking distance as are many bus routes. The area is quiet, with lots of greenery and nearby parks - we love it, but would like to spend time in other countries, Italy or other European countries, Canada, USA but I think Australia would probably be too far
Peta. my wife, and I are retired hoteliers and both enjoy travelling, we have a small house in the South of Spain (which we would gladly also swap) but are really spending too much time there.
We speak, after a fashion, French, Italian and Spanish and at least manage to get by quite successfully in any of them
