Our home, which is more than 100 years old, was subject to a major rebuild just two years ago and now features a stunning hand-crafted kitchen with an AGA and floor-to-ceiling fold-back glass doors. It is located in charming and leafy Highgate, with its beautiful Georgian architecture, first-class travel links to Central London, as well as having close proximity to open spaces such as Regents Park and Hampstead Heath.
Highgate village is a stylish enclave, once home to several esteemed English poets and writers, including John Betjemen, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Charles Dickens; today it is a favourite of film stars, supermodels and luminaries of the music industry. It has several long-established traditional English pubs, a selection of restaurants, a beautiful park and the historic Highgate Cemetery, final resting place of Karl Marx and many of the pre-Raphaelite painters.
Hampstead and Crouch End and their many attractions are close by, as is Camden which boasts the largest street market in Europe. The countryside of Berkshire is easily accessible from here, as are the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. We are well-situated for airports, with London City Airport and Stanstead being particularly close, making weekend trips to other European cities very easy.
In addition to the three bedrooms, our house has a smart utility room, two reception rooms, separated by double doors, one of which houses a piano. The small garden has a patio and a barbecue. Upstairs is a family bathroom and downstairs there is an additional toilet.
