About our home

Our Victorian home was built in 1850 and is situated in a conservation area of London. We have the top two floors of a 4 story building, measuring only 70 square metres, in a relatively quiet street. It’s an average sized appartment in London terms, but, in our opinion, is far superior to staying in a bland and functional hotel room. The appartment is cosy in winter and light and airy in summer. It has a modern well equipped kitchen with a gas hob, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, plus a microwave. We’ve loved living here for eighteen years now - we only wish we had some outdoor space.

We're just inside the London Congestion Charging zone, (costs £10 each day to drive into), but we have excellent bus, tube, and hire cycle links very close by. Buses are frequent even through the night and in the weekends, and it takes roughly 5 minutes to reach the City of London and 10 minutes to reach the West End by bus. It's 5 minutes walk to the nearest underground station, Angel, on the Northern Line.

Angel is a great place for eating and drinking - we're spoilt for choice with Islington High St just a few minute’s walk away in one direction, and Exmouth Market in the other. We're also very close to big supermarkets if you want to do your own cooking. Fresh produce is also available from Chapel Market which operates 6 days a week (not Mondays).

The main draw card of our home is it’s so close to the bustling West End theatre land, and to the Thames and the City of London. Most tourist attractions are easily reachable from here as transport links are excellent. We’ve got 150meg unlimited broadband to stay connected, plus Virgin Media cable TV on demand if you want a break from the culture and nightlife that London offers.

More about us

  1. We've been married 30 years, have no children, love dogs (though don't have one) and love experiencing different locations and environments

  2. We work from home so good wireless broadband is super important for us to exchange, and we ONLY CONSIDER SWAPS OF A MINIMUM OF 6 WEEKS.

  3. We love travel and immersing ourselves in local culture - hence the 6 week swap minimum - but as long as there's an internet connection! WE'RE NOT AT ALL INTERESTED IN POINTS SWAPS.
