About our home

Thank you for your interest in our unique historic barge moored on the River Thames.

Please note that we are only able to offer 3 night weekend swaps only with arrival either Thursday or Friday. We also prefer non-consecutive swaps.

Please message John and me if you have any questions about staying on board and if you would like to see more photos.

Staying on board you will have exclusive use of the converted forward hold with open plan living / kitchen / diner, bedroom, bath and WC.

Our living space has a DVD player, turntable and stereo. Wifi is included throughout the barge. The space is heated by a clean oil-burning stove and electric radiators if needed.

The compact galley has a hob, kettle, toaster, combination microwave oven and refrigerator.

The separate bedroom includes a king-size bed fitted with quality linens, a full-length mirror, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board. We have a collection of books that you are welcome to use during your stay and several London guides and maps.

Our full bath with sit-down shower attachment has cotton bath sheets and hand towels with complementary toiletries. The separate WC has a wash hand basin and shaving mirror. There is also an elegant shower room with WC and basin in the communal pierhouse, about 5 metres from the door.

Our moorings are private and access is via a security gate. You will need to cross over the gap between the pontoon and barge. The moorings is on the tidal Thames and so the barge does move with the river traffic, and this is more noticeable in the afternoon.

The barge is ten minutes walk from Tower Hill Underground and Wapping Overground stations. Wapping also has bike hire stands and is a good place to pick up taxis.

Wapping is a quiet, safe residential neighbourhood with excellent local pubs, Italian and fish restaurants. Nearby, St Katherine's Dock has a nice selection of bars and restaurants. There is a Waitrose supermarket within five minutes walk. We are also on the within easy walk of the Tower of London, as well as buses, trains and boats to Westminster.

Our lovely houseboat is both very cosy and perfectly located for any experienced or new visitor to London. Please drop us an email with some details about yourself, your visit and suggested dates together with any questions and we will get right back to you.
