About our home

We love the sun! We want to spend one-two-three months this winter in a lovely warm climate in exchange for a lovely warm apartment in central London.

Visiting London for business or pleasure? Or maybe you are grandparents coming to check up on families of sons and daughters living and working here… then our home is in the best central location – a quiet and perfect place to relax and escape the hurly-burly of the city.

In the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, our contemporary two bedroom apartment is in a secure new development on the iconic Barbican, which is set in eight acres of gardens and is a traffic-free oasis of calm.

Sitting high up above Europe’s most prestigious arts centre, yet only moments away by taking the lift down to the concert hall to listen to Sir Simon Rattle conducting his London Symphony Orchestra. Not into classical music? No worries. The Royal Shakespeare Company could be playing in one of the two theatres while film buffs have the choice of three cinemas showing all the latest releases. The two art galleries have regular thought provoking exhibitions. Also in the Barbican is the Museum of London, which documents the history of London from prehistoric to modern times.

For business people, we’re right bang in the middle of the Square Mile, home to the world’s leading banks and financial institutions. For computer geeks, Tech City is on the doorstep while the legal profession has the Inns of Court and law courts a short walk away.

Our secure apartment has floor to ceiling views over medieval St Giles Cripplegate towards the Roman London Wall. It provides one double and one single bedroom, two bathrooms, all mod con kitchen and an elegant sitting room leading on to a south facing balcony. Facilities include wifi, cable TV, a blue ray player and multi room audio system.

We're surrounded by great bars and restaurants and perfectly placed for exploring historic City sites like the Guildhall, with its Roman amphitheatre, the Royal Exchange, the Bank of England, the Tower of London, Wren churches and the streets where Shakespeare, Daniel Defoe, John Milton and Oliver Cromwell once strode. The Thames is also minutes away.

With great transport links, the West End, with its world famous theatres, is close to hand.. Catch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, see Meghan’s wedding dress at Kensington Palace, visit art galleries such as the National, the National Portrait, the Tate and don’t forget the shopping meccas, Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty.

Arriving from Heathrow or Gatwick, the Barbican is handy for Paddington and Victoria stations as well as St Pancras where you can catch the Eurostar express to Paris or Brussels for a spot of European sightseeing. We are also well served by three tube stations and a various bus routes to all corners of the capital.

We ask for a one-month minimum stay to enable you to really experience the charm of living in one of the world’s most historic, yet modern and go-ahead, cities. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more. Thanks for looking.
