About our home

We have a lovely warm cosy home with a stove in the living room which heats the whole house. We also have oil fired central heating. There is Internet TV and wifi.
There are 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles and two singles. One of the double bedrooms has an en-suite toilet and wash handbasin. There is also a sofa bed that sleeps two downstairs.
There is a shower and toilet upstairs and one downstairs.
There is a travel cot If you have a young baby and some toys and games for toddlers and older children. (Our grandchildren visit often)
We have an adult tricycle and an adult bicycle for use during your stay.
Our house is situated approx 2 miles from the city centre in a quiet Park. There is easy access to amenities such as shops, leisure centre, restaurants and local regular bus service to city centre. There are also plenty of inexpensive taxis within the city.
Derry is the only completely walled city in Ireland and the British Isles, it has 1450 years of history.
Derry is convenient to Donegal in the Irish Republic which is renowned for its stunning beaches and picturesque scenery.
The Antrim Coast, which is within an hours driving distance includes dramatic coastlines and historic sites including the Giant's Causeway
There are many museums and sites of interest in and around the city including the Amelia Earhart centre, the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall, the Bogside murals by the Bogside Artists, the Bloody Sunday Museum, Free Derry Corner, the Guildhall, the Peace Bridge, the Workhouse Museum, St Columb's Park and Brooke Park. Lonely Planet called Derry the forth best city in the world in 2013.

Where is it?


We live in a quiet Park just off the main Derry/Donegal road. We are about 2 miles from the city centre and have a regular bus service and also inexpensive taxi service.
There are restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
Donegal is just 15 mins away by car and has many stunning beaches and drives. The North Antrim coast is about an hour away which also boasts several beaches and drives.
The world famous Giants Causeway is within an hours drive away as well.

Bit of culture
Derry is a walled City and the only one in Ireland or the UK that remains intact. They are 400 years old and a great place to start exploring the city. The Playhouse, Millenium Forum, Derry walls which st Columbs Cathedral, St Eugenes Cathedral
Walks in the park
St Columb's Park, Brook Park, along the river into the city centre.
Spot of exercise
Templemore Complex and a variety of Gyms
Day tripping
Giant's Causeway and the Antrim Coast an hour away. Donegal which is only 5 to 10 miles away and is in the Republic of Ireland
