Situated 15 minutes from Newcastle city centre is our 2 bedroom/1 bathroom spacious terraced house.
Our master bedroom with a king size bed has a cozy chair perfect for reading near the window. Next door is a guest bedroom with a kingside bed and double windows with views to the front of the house. If another queen sized bed is needed, the day bed in the dining room can be utilized. A big bathroom upstairs has a high pressure shower, big free standing bath and a heated towel rail for making those cold mornings a bit more enjoyable.
To the front of the house is the living room, you have the use of a big TV, PlayStation, Now TV On Demand and Netflix for what perfect night in, with generous seating and an upright piano, feel free if you dabble. An open plan dining room and kitchen makes cooking with guests enjoyable. A plethora of board games and puzzles make their home, we’d love for you to use them on a chilled evening. The dining table has two chairs and bench, but can be pulled into the room easily to add more seating with the chairs dotted about the dining room. Through the archway sits the kitchen, you have use of all of our appliances and crockery, including an oven, microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, milk frother and blender. Help yourself to anything you find in the cupboard, don’t hesitate to ask. The stable door will lead you from the kitchen to the backyard, a sun trap on a clear evening, with plenty of plants and flowers it’s a lovely place to enjoy dinner or a drink on our outdoor pallet couch.
Newcastle is just a 15 minute drive away with plenty to see and do. A bustling city centre with lots of culture and plenty to do. Visit the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, take a bike ride down the River Tyne or pick up some new shoes at one of the many stores in Eldon Square, are just a few things to do while you’re here. If you are a foodie, take a drive to Proven Goods Co. in Ouseburn for a delicious doughnut or Northern Rye for a divine pastry, sit by the fire with a traditional Indian meal at Thali Tray or visit the Stack for drinks and live music in a shopping container community.
Local to us, if you’d prefer not to drove is the lovely seaside town of Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and Cullercoats are just a bit further up the coast. Easy to get to via the Metro. Tynemouth has some lovely beaches, catch some amazing fish and chips at Longsands Fish Kitchen and visit some of the quirky shops dotted along the high street. Take a walk through Northumberland park, visit the pond or the play park if you have kids, a cafe in the middle boasts a great ice cream menu. North Sheilds Fish Quay is great for admiring the skies on a clear night, grab some amazing Mexican food at the Lobo Roja across from the water. A great bistro sits just round the corner from us, lovey food and great service if you want to pop down for a cocktail close to home.
Our two indoor rescue cats Cheddar and Pickle roam around the house as they please, we hope that you’d feel comfortable looking after them while we are away. They are very loving cats, expect to be awoken with some furry rubs to the face or arm.
