Our house has 3 bedrooms (1 has a king size bed, 1 double and 1 child's room with single bed) , 3 bath (1 main, 1 en-suite and an extra downstairs loo),kitchen through dining room, lounge and conservatory overlooking the garden, drive and gardens with patio areas in a lovely quiet area of Macclesfield.
We do have a Z bed that could be used for a child so potentially could sleep 6 .
We bought the house in 2009 off an elderley couple, we have redecorated throughout- apart from the kitchen and ensuite- we are hoping to do these in 2014 but both are very clean and useable- just not to our taste. Our neighbours are very friendly. We are in very easy reach of the town centre and train station- walking time approx 10-15 mins. Local supermarket and parks also nearby.
Macclesfield is a lovely town on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Within easy reach (30 mins drive) is national trust properties and countryside- Tatton Park, Lyme Park, Dunham Massey, Alderley Edge to name a few.
Macclesfield itself has its own beautiful countryside on its doorstep- Maccelsfield Forest/ Tegs nose/ Aldreley Edge. It also has all the amentities of a town you'd expect- pedestrain town centre with shops, bars, restaraunts, bowling, parks, jodrell bank- famous space telescope. Tittesworth reservoir is worth a visit, lovely walk, cafe, boating lake to kayak on.
Nearby are lovely villages/ churched such as Langley, Sutton, Gawsworth, or towns such as Alderley Edge or Knutsford are worth a visit with cobbled streets and small trinket shops.
Excellent rail links- within 15 minute walk/ 2 minute drive, to Manchester with it's museums- Museum of science and industry- great for the kids, national football museum, manchester united and city football grounds and museums, cinema's, climbing centres the famous shopping outlet- the Trafford Centre and adventure seekers Chill Factore for skiing, luging, climbing...
Within about an hours drive you could be in Blackpool with the famous pleasure beach, tower and piers,or Alton Towers theme park is less than an hour away.
Also less than an hour the beautiful Derbyshire countryside- Chatsworth House, Bakewell, stepping stones at Ilam, Dovedale. A bit further -the beautiful historical cities of Chester or York or 2 hours drive away the stunning Lake Districe or Wales.
London is 2 hours by train with reasonably priced budget hotels should you wish to spend a few days of your visit there.
***Please note we do have a very friendly labrador dog (who lives in the conservatory/ outside) however he will stay elsewhere during swaps- we do not expect you to look after him but wanted to mention in case of any allergy sufferers.**
