About our home

Our home is a comfortable Victorian house with 3 floors and cellars. It comfortably sleeps 7 in 5 bedrooms- 3 doubles and 2 singles. There is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower, an extra toilet and office. Downstairs there is a large modern dining kitchen with small conservatory attached, 2 large comfortable living rooms, utility room/toilet. There are walled gardens to front and back. We have TV with cable access, computers with printer and broadband, x-box, books and DVD's. There are 5 adult sized bikes, tents, camping equipment and a car exchange is available.


More about us

  1. we are David and Rosemary and in our 40's. We are both teachers- David teaches at a specialist music school and I am a part time Primary school teacher. We have 3 lovely teenage children aged 17, 14 and 12. we are new to exchanging but we love the idea of really getting the feel of another country from anothers home. We would like to organize an exchange during our long summer break -so anytime between 24/08/10 and 28/08/10!

Where is it?


Chorlton is a busy, family-orientated area of South Manchester with a village feel. It has its own bars, restaurants, pubs, churches, supermarkets, independent shops and award winning grocers and a deli. (The Barbakaan and The Unicorn). There is a children's indoor adventure play area nearby. Nearby there is world class football at Manchester United Football Club and the home of 'Freddie Flintoff' is a mile away at Lancashire Cricket Club. We are 3 miles away from the vibrant city centre of Manchester with its museums, orchestras, galleries, theatres restaurants, bars and shopping. Skiing is available at the Chillfactore ski centre as is fantastic shopping at the Trafford centre. Chorlton is well served by public transport and we are close to motorway links. The Peak District National Park is an hour and a half away, with its stately homes, quaint villages and country pubs. Yorkshire, home to the Brontes is accessible. The Lake District is home to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter as well as fantastic hiking and sailing. You could visit Liverpool -45 minutes away- with the Beatles museum, John Lennon and Paul McCartney's childhood homes and the famous ferry across the Mersey. Roman Chester is well worth a visit with its history, shops, river and racecourse. In an hour you could be in Wales with beautiful beaches and the mountains of Snowdonia. London is 2 hours away by train- great for an overnight stay to see the sights or take in a West End show.
