We have just completed the renovations on our two storey semi-detached home. It has 3 bedrooms but is currently only set up with 2 as one is a sewing room. The bedrooms are upstairs along with the bathroom which has a power shower/bath combination and toilet.
Downstairs are the living room and kitchen/dining room. Our home has gas hot water and heating and electric cooking facillities. It is double glazed so is quiet and warm.
We have a nice garden on a corner plot with a private rear area suitable for summer barbeques.
We are very proud of our home as it has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and is very comfortable. We have a lovely outlook from the house with the local childrens playground and bowling green opposite.
If you want a home that is central and convienent for many amenites, interests and events, ours would be ideal. We are lucky to live in the lovely historic village of Edwinstowe.
Within comfortable walking distance is Sherwood Forest and The Major Oak, Robin Hoods legendary hideout. There are many footpaths and bridleways throughout the forest all comfortable walks or cycle rides. Slightly further afield are Rufford Abbey approximately 3 miles and 6 miles away is Clumber Park. Both of these estates have lovely surrounds with extensive walking and cycle tracks there.
The village has several pubs with resturants ranging from cheap and cheerful
to the top end of fine dining. There is a small supermarket, several variety shops, library, doctors, chemist and hairdressers within 5 mins walk of our house.
There are excellent bus connections to the towns and cities within our proximity. We are centrally based, so choices for shopping, work, day trips, theatres or visiting other countries are easily accessed from Edwinstowe. Mansfield, Nottingham, Sheffield, Doncaster, Lincoln and Chesterfield are the bigger centres and Ollerton, Worksop, Newark, and Retford the smaller centres. We are also within 30 miles of Robin Hood Airport and East Midlands airport. These both have regular flights to most European airports.
We love it here as we have the pleasures of city and country on our doorstep. It is the ideal base for visiting England.
Hi, Im Shirley and my partner is Tony. We are in our early 50's and looking at semi retirement and enjoying some travelling.
We both work for a large retail chain in their despatch centre at present but in previous lives we have been a teacher and a miner.
As a kiwi it is my wish to return to New Zealand and be nearer my children and grandchildren but as Tony hasn't seen much of my home country, we are heading over for a longer trip with the idea of exploring much more of New Zealand and me doing a good sales pitch to convince him it will be a great country to retire in!
We enjoy gardening and getting out into the rural and beach enviroments.
We will be New Zealand in February for a family wedding and wish to spend a few months exploring from that time.
