About our home

A superbly presented traditional white washed cottage of great charm built circa 1770 and totally renovated. Features wood burning stove, 3 pretty bedrooms and professionally landscaped cottage garden. The cottage has a fully fitted contemporary kitchen with utility room and downstairs WC. The lounge is stylishly furnished and very comfortable.

With the typical British weather, all will not be lost because you can curl up in front of a roaring fire or take a short walk to a local pub. Use our bicycles and go for a long ride or take the car out and visit numerous places of interest (e.g. Lincoln Castle, York, Leeds and Cleethorpes).

The cottage is located at the end of a private track with no passing traffic and is completely surrounded by fields with sheep, cows and privately owned meadow.

Our account with loveswaphomes has been open since 2007 when we first moved to the property however, we put swapping on hold for 8 years due to David's illness and have just started it up again. Statistics show many viewings but only one swap. This was a successful one way swap and we are very good friends with them now. References can be provided on request.

We are Lisa & David Pearce. We welcome you to our home. Lisa is a PA and David is retired. We both enjoy lazing around, listening to the birds and noises of the countryside, walking, our pets and visiting places of interest. We consider ourselves quite a tidy couple with no children and we always ensure that our home is kept very updated and well maintained.

Our garden boasts a rose court yard which catches the evening sun and a decking in another part of the garden that overlooks the rest of our small but mature garden and our neighbour's beautiful meadow. We are not overlooked.

We are close to the towns of Brigg, Market Rasen, Scunthorpe and Grimsby which are all equidistant from our home (about 30 mins). We are about 45 mins from Lincoln and 1.5hrs from the city of York. If you like the beach then Cleethorpes has become very popular with the young and is being updated all the time. There are some trendy places to eat and drink both there and close by to our home.

We love cooking, and although the kitchen in the photo gallery looks very sparse, it was taken soon after installation (it is very new). It's a cook's kitchen and has many gadgets and we love good coffee so there are two different types of coffee maker!

We love animals and have 8 cats. Half are rescued. If we swapped we would be looking for a couple who would be prepared to look after our cats for us too. They are very friendly but some have foibles and we would need to have their needs met (medication and separation). We also have two cars and one would be available for use if we were to swap (Peugeot 207).

We would be looking for homes with similar standards.

More about us

  1. We are a couple without children but with 7 cats

  2. One of us is disabled but both can walk stairs.

  3. We are looking for rural retreats in the UK.
