About our home

Our 5 bedroom Modernist Ranch house was commissioned for a retiring sea captain in the 1960's , and completely refurbished in 2021.

Set out on the ground floor on one level it comprises: entrance hall, large kitchen/diner with breakfast island , south facing living /dining room , childrens playroom/study (with shower Room) , Office/Study , cloakroom , & pantry/boot /laundry room .
In the east wing are 5 large bedrooms: 2 master suites (both with baths and showers) , and 3 further bedrooms with a communal family bathroom.

Genota. (named after a sea snail!) is located in a fully secure half acre south facing private garden with an outdoor hot tub entertainment terrace , breakfast/BBQ deck, and childrens play area. To the front is a courtyard entrance garden with fish pond and terrace, and substantial parking for cars including a 2 bay car port with EV charging.

We are situated in the private Maresfield Park estate on the edge of the Ashdown Forest (Winnie the Pooh country), with the local amenities of Maresfield village two minutes walk away (pub, post office, church and local shop,) and the amenities of Uckfield Town just 5 minutes drive away including the 100 year old PictureHouse cinema.

London is an hour a way by train, Brighton and the sea 30 minutes drive , Gatwick Airport 30 mins, along with numerous historical attractions nearby for day trips.
