“This was our first home swap experience, and Liz was so helpful right from the beginning, even when some of my questions probably seemed quite ridiculous. Liz made the whole experience easy. We were delighted with the lovely cottage, which is very well equipped. We were able to enjoy our first meal outside in the pretty courtyard. Sadly the weather didn't permit that again. Liz checked on us a couple of times via text, concerned we might be cold (ridiculous weather for August) and explaining how to put the heating on if needed. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she is the perfect host. As for the surrounding area, everything is so close. The Forest of Dean is just beautiful, we had great fun doing the Sculpture Trail and visiting Puzzlewood and we thoroughly enjoyed a chilled day at Symonds Yat. The White Horse pub at Staunton is definitely worth a visit. The food is superb. We would love to come back to Liz's home for a return trip.”
Elizabeth's reviewsAs a host (5)
“We had a great stay in Elizabeth's house in the lovely village of Rockfield. It was very comfortable with all amenities and we were able to take after-dinner strolls around the place, through fields, visiting the beautiful village church, and discovering the interesting houses in the village. Monmouth is close by and full of British history, as is Raglan with its extremely well preserved castle. Walks in nearby Skenfrith and the Wye Valley with their attractive pubs for lunch were most enjoyable. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to Elizabeth's home.”
“Good communication and attractive family home in a lovely part of the country.”
“We had a great time in Monmouth in Elizabeth's house. The house is very comfortable and cosy and with a fantastic garden which is great for kids. You have everything you need in the house and Elizabeth always checked whether we needed anything. The area is amazing, very rural and beautiful. Monmouth is a great town with lots of little cafe shops and without chain restaurants. We can highly recommend Elizabeth's house to anyone. ”
“What a lovely place! Both the house where we felt comfortable and at ease and the charming little town of Monmouth where people were so friendly. We're from the French Alps and had a wonderful time in this area that offers so many activities. A week was a bit too short! Elizabeth was very nice and made it possible for our young son to play with the children next door ; they had fun every evening in the garden and the trampolines and so on..... Thanks again for everything Elizabeth ; we keep Warm Memories ”
