About our home

We live in a semi-detached, three bedroomed, uncluttered house which boasts lovely views over the fields. There are three bedrooms, a study/art room with PC and library, two spacious single rooms (one designed for a boy and the other a girl of 9/10 or thereabouts) and one double. There is an upstairs bathroom with shower and bath. Downstairs, the layout is open-plan with a living room-diner and separate kitchen. Our home is tastefully decorated with a piano in the dining room should anybody wish to play it. There is ample storage in the garage, an enclosed garden to the rear comprising a children's playhouse, a climbing frame and vegetable/flower garden. Barn owls can often be seen skimming along the back fence.

Our home is in a great setting. We look out on to fields and wildlife can be seen in the surrounding coutryside. Our village is friendly, quiet and our neighbours are trustworthy. We are in a good position for exploring Northumberland's wide open spaces but also near the picturesque town of Morpeth where shops, cultural attractions and riverside walks can be found. The nearest city is Newcastle-upon-Tyne which is situated some 16 miles from here.
The Scottish borders are about fifty miles from our home and there are lots of pretty places to walk and entertain children. A leisure centre with a full itinerary of activities awaits. Seven stories, the Baltic art gallery and the Sage music building, Gateshead is less than 35 minutes drive.

More about us

  1. We have done three exchanges already in the last two years and they were all a great success on both sides!

  2. Our children are 8 and 9 years old and their bedrooms are full of toys which visiting families have loved and commented on after each exchange.

  3. I work as a counsellor and have another degree in psychology. Craig works in health and social care in a community setting. He has a degree in environmental health. We love travel, art, current affairs, music and languages.
