We love our welcoming family home and the stunning area we live. The beach, Wales Coastal Path, tennis courts and beach cafes are all 5 mins walk from the house!
Wales is STUNNING. Those of us who live here know that, but it certainly tends to go under the radar of most visitors to the UK who head to Scotland or Ireland for their fix of coast and country outside of London. Wales was given 'Top 10 Best in Travel' by the Lonely Planet in 2012 and the beaches of the Gower Peninsula (Rhosilli and Three Cliffs in particular) are constantly winning competitions for Best Beach in UK or listed in Top 10 Beaches in Europe. In 2014 Trip Advisor named Rhosilli in their Top 10 beaches in the World!!!!
Mumbles is a bustling village that is the gateway to the Gower Peninsula. It is a beautiful, vibrant, friendly and well equipped village. There are shops, restaurants, cafes, independent retailers and two small supermarkets. The local people couldn't be more welcoming and proud of where they live. Our house is in an elevated position between Mumbles Village and Langland and Rotherslade beaches. These are the first of the stunning Gower beaches. Langland has a good restaurant as well as a friendly Surfside Cafe and ice cream shop. There are amazing rock pools and rocks to climb as well as the bay itself. Langland can have great surf but is more appealing to some on flat calm days for swimming and messing about in the shallows. We have lovely neighbours and the street is pretty quiet despite it being on the road to the beach. There is access to the house down a lane at the back with off street parking. You can walk from the house and in 5 mins you will be on the beach and in 10 mins you would be in the heart of the village with its fantastic amenities and the backdrop of Oystermouth Castle and Swansea Bay.
Our home is a great choice for a family or group who like space, style and convenience. The large and bright, open plan kitchen diner is a lovely space for you all to enjoy your holiday together. Breakfast at the centre island or gather around the large dining table for meals or board games. Gourmet meals will be a breeze in our beautiful kitchen with a range cooker and all mod cons. There is even a dartboard for a game while dinner is on the go. There is a family room off the kitchen where the kids can play with their toys or curl up to watch a movie whilst still being observed from the kitchen diner if necessary. This room has a desk, a large comfy sofa and a wood burning stove.
The front sitting room is stylishly finished with design classic furniture arranged around a wood burning stove and wide screen television. The property's elevated position means that the wide bay windows let in a lot of light and has a view out over the trees and rooftops.
The utility room is equipped with a washing machine, drier and a sandy shower. The utility room can be accessed from outside through a side door so you can wash off the beach before you enter the living areas.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms. Children will love the bunk in the large children's room (Star Wars and football decorated!), flooded with light from the large bay windows. Plenty of room for the little ones to play in here.
The master bedroom is tastefully furnished and has fully fitted wardrobes and again plenty of light from the large window with views over the trees to the sea. This room has an en suite bathroom
There is a lovely single room with funky surf themed decor guaranteed to get a thumbs up from any child, especially those who like the beach. A further double room in the eaves has beautiful exposed beams and a stylish en suite shower room.
The family bathroom is elegant in charcoal and white and a great size. There is a bath, walk in shower, sink and w.c.
Outside there is an enclosed rear garden, with a south facing patio. In the garden there is a Wendy house, a climbing wall and a trampoline. At the front of the property there are steps up to the property. The house has rear access with parking for two cars. There is also on street parking in front of the property.
