About our home

We have a beautiful newly converted byre with delightful views of the surrounding countryside. It has a large open plan living area with original beams. A large dining space with table to seat eight. The kitchen is fully equipped with all latest appliances. There are three double bedrooms each with ensuites. Patio doors from bedrooms lead to outside area. Above the lounge there is a mezzanine seating area and study. There is a utility room with washer and dryer. A large garden and parking for lots of cars.

The house is situated in an small village with a large loch and river ideal for birdwatching, fishing and watersports. There are many golf courses in the area including one in the village which welcomes visitors. The Galloway forest and hills provide great walking and the coast is only thirty minutes drive. The area provides a great base for sightseeing Glasgow and Edinburgh are just over an hours drive away. This is a quiet undiscovered part of Southern Scotland

Married with one little girl Georgina who is 33 and always busy touring the world playing her trumpet. Since reaching the grand age of fifty we have worked harder than any other time of our life and finally finished the conversion of a byre ( scottish barn ) into a modern style home.
Gill is a primary school teacher and Neil is the local handyman in the village who likes to go fishing when allowed!
We now have the idea of spending the next few years abroad in some sunnier climate and are toying with the idea of France or Spain.
Our language skills are very limited we speak Lancashire dialect english and a little French and German.
Thanks for looking.
