About our home

Our country house is a large modern family home, enlarged from an old farm cottage. It is surrounded by fields near a small English village with a country pub. Our house has 5 bedrooms, one on 2 floors with a mezzanine playroom above. The master bedroom has a 32 inch LCD TV and en suite bathroom. Another large bedroom has an en suite shower room. On the ground floor are 2 sitting rooms with 50 inch plasma TV and 42 inch LCD 3D TV, with Playstation 3, Wi and loads of games and dvd's. There is also a games room with table tennis table and a large kitchen with a dining table. There is central heating throughout the house and a wood burning stove in one lounge. The house stands in a large garden with a trampoline and soccer net. Outside is a detached garage with mountain bikes and an electric bike available for use. There is also a car available for use if required. The local village has a good country pub next to the river Trent and there are horse riding stables within one mile. Our house is five miles from Newark, a historic market town with it's own castle, 6 miles from Southwell a historic Minster town and 15 miles from the ancient Cathedral City of Lincoln. Sherwood Forest is a short drive away. The main high speed train line from Newark leads to London in only 80 minutes and York in less than 40 minutes. There is a large stately home a short drive away at Belton, in its own grounds adjacent to a golf course. Belton House and many other properties owned by the National Trust are well worth a visit.
