Only 10 minutes from the Newquay Airport, my quirky 18th Century cottage is a real home from home.
Combining period features such as a stable front door, 'clome' oven and exposed walls with the luxuries of modern technology.
With two double bedrooms both with built wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, plus an additional shower/toilet downstairs which is ideal for post beach activities and dirty dogs.
The comfy sitting room has plenty of seating, including a double sofa bed for extra visitors or alternative sleeping arrangements and offers SKY+HD TV and DVD and Wifi available with a selection of DVD's, Board games and books to keep you entertained if needs be.
The large fully equipped kitchen offers real farm house style living and is the heart of the cottage. There is plenty of room in the reception room for safely storing surf boards, bikes, dog beds etc. and a washing-line outside for drying. Please note the stairs are wooden, open and traditional and a little steep.
Clean linen and towels are provided ( does not include beach towels)
Crossmount Cottage is perfectly located between the famous spectacular coast line and Newquay surf spots and the rolling countryside of North Cornwall. It is based in the small village of St Columb Minor which sits just on the edge of Newquay town centre, giving it the perfect balance between a vibrant seaside town and peaceful country living.
The Cottage is ideal get-away for anyone who loves being outdoors and enjoys playing in the sea, surfing, running, cycling, golf, or walking ( with a dog or not) as it is surrounded by 11 beaches, cliff coastal paths, rolling fields, popular cycle routes( mountain and road) and a small wood near by and the large Cardinham woods only a short drive away.
Alternatively though it can be just as much enjoyed by those with more romantic or relaxing ideas in mind with easy access to everything you need.
Porth beach; a family friendly non- surfing beach, is only a 10 minute stroll and its neighbour Whippsyderry ( a local surf spot ideal for avoiding the crowds) sits to the right, whilst Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne and the other town beaches sit to the left. Nearly all the beaches offer surfboard, body-board hire and wetsuits.
Well behaved friendly pets are most welcome and the cottage has parking for 1 car in the courtyard, as well as plenty of safe road parking available. The village has a well stocked local shop, a local pub which offers food, or you can visit the Mermaid pub which does excellent food and sits on Porth beach, perfect for a beer, watching the sunset and all easy walking distance from the cottage.
The cottage is also centrally located 10 minutes by car from Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant, as well as 10 minutes from Fistral Beach home of British surfing.
As it is close to the A30 the main road through Cornwall it is a great location to be able to explore the rest of the county, including the historic city of Truro or the old town of Wadebridge. The amazing ecological Eden Project is close by car, or you can catch a bus at the end of the road and is so worth a trip and offers a great day out.
Car rental is available only 5 minute walk from the house, or you can just use the bus service which runs regularly into the town centre and the surrounding areas, if you don't fancy driving or walking.

I am exceedingly lucky to be able to call this amazing location my home and it really is the perfect spot to enjoy everything Cornwall and Newquay has to offer - so why not come and visit and find out for yourself...
Extra Info: Do please come and enjoy my home; just remember it is my home the rest of the year and not just a holiday house. :) The cottage is set in a communal courtyard and my neighbours are very friendly, but will expect consideration for noise etc, as they all have pets( cats and dogs) and also there are a couple of young children too. There is a stair gate to stop pets going upstairs. Unfortunately the house is not suitable for those who have mobility difficulties.
