About our home

Our home is located in a beautiful countryside area overlooking a lake which is fully stocked with brown trout. Inside the house, we have 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms which makes it ideal for a larger family. One en-suite master bedroom, a double room and 2 twin rooms suitable for kids. The kids rooms have a Wii and an XBox for your use as well as lots of books, dressing up clothes, dolls house and other play stuff. There is a family room with a big television and lots of DVDs suitable for kids and big kids. The kitchen and dining area are open plan which is great for family dining. If you dont feel like cooking, there are local takeaways that also deliver (mostly chinese and pizza). There is also a laundry room and an office with internet access if you need to keep in touch with back home. We also have a sunroom overlooking the garden and lake and it is perfect for lying back and relaxing in during the summer. Outside we have decked area with lovely views of the lake and it is perfect for BBQ's during the summer evenings. Our garden has recently been landscaped and it includes a separate play area for the kids including a trampoline and swing set. We have young children, so the garage is stocked with bikes (for both kids and adults), go karts and other toys which our visitors are more than welcome to use. Our neighbours are very friendly and there are two families right beside us with young kids.

More about us

  1. Mum is Roisin (Barrister/Lawyer), Dad is Fergal (IT Manager) and kids are Matthew (9), Naoise (6) and Ceana (5) - 1 boy and 2 girls. For the past number of years we have camped in Europe, including France, Italy and Spain. We absolutely love camping in Europe however now that the kids are a little bit older we hope to start travelling a bit more and are willing to travel further if necessary - North America perhaps. The world is a big place that we want to explore! We would also be keen to take short breaks around the kids school holidays, easter, halloween, and mid-term beak in February. We would treat your home with the greatest of respect and would do everything we could to make sure that your trip to our home was fantastic.

Where is it?

South County Armagh, with its beautiful undulating countryside, drumlin landscape and the legendary Ring of Gullion is steeped in Celtic mythology. This area is famed for its rich cultural heritage and the numerous prehistoric and early Christian sites.

We live in a quiet part of the countryside with the local village 2km away. There is a small town 6km away and two medium sized towns approx 15 mins drive where you will find lots of shopping, ice-skating, bowling, swimming, cinema and lots of restaurants of all sorts. The major cities of both Dublin and Belfast are only 1 hr drive away. The nearest train station is 10km away with regular services to both Dublin and Belfast. The lake is stocked with fish and we have several fishing rods available for you to use. The nearby mountain is ideal for those who are feeling a bit more energetic...for those not so energetic, you can take the mountain drive...where you can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. There is a golf course and pony trekking within 5 minutes drive and several other golf courses within 20mins drive. The famous Tayto crisp factory is only a short drive, where you can take tours and the Armagh Planetarium is great for the kids. The spectacular Antrim north coast with the Giants Causeway can be done in a day trip and there are many other day trip destinations depending on your interests.
