“Wonderful swap. Very special location and comfortable home. Jacky was a very attentive host and communication was excellent. We were very lucky to spend our family Summer holiday there. Thank you. ”
“After arranging a direct swap with Jacky we decided to extend our stay on the Isle of Wight for some nights. We had such a fabulous time and we can highly recommend Jacky and her home. It is a beautiful haven in a wonderful surrounding. Thank you again for this uncomplicated, excellent swap. We will remember it a life time. ”
“What a fantastic swap! It was our first time on the Isle of Wight and we absolutely loved it!The location of Jacky´s home could not be better for getting to know the Isle of Wight and for exploring it. Only a short 5 minute walk and you are on Coastal Path which leads you along the coast of outstanding beauty. We walked all the way to Freshwater Bay and we couldn´t get enough glimpses of the cliffs and the beaches and the fields full of cattle and sheep. It is REALLY a treasure of nature and Jackys place is just in between. We spent a lot of days at Compton Beach and especially at low tide it is a huge playground for the little ones with gentle waves for boogie boarding and lots of space for building sandcastles. Additionally we got tickets for the Blackgang Chine which is an amusement park only 5 minutes by car. It was not only perfect for our kids (6, 4, 1) but for the whole family and as it is a return ticket you can come back for 7 days – what a deal! We went to the Needles, Yarmouth, Bembridge and Ventnor. We even extended our stay for a couple of nights and time was not enough anyway. The house was pretty comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. It is definitely rather a home than a vacation place. It has a lovely garden with lots and lots of flowers and plants. Beautiful! Jacky left LOTS of tipps what to do and communication with her was excellent before, during and even after our stay. She was more than helpful to us, for example she booked the ferry for us ahead and managed to change the dates after we had decided to stay longer– Jacky is a real jewel. She was not only the best host but Jacky and her husband Paul are also the best guests you can imagine. They took excellent care of our home. Thank you so very much for this swap. I can highly recommend Jacky and her place on the IOW. ”
“Jackie's house is a perfect base to explore and discover what the Isle of Wight has to offer, which I have to say, is bucket loads! The house is lovely, the garden is peaceful and the location is superb (pub, pizza and shop all in walking distance!) ”
“Jacky’s home provided the perfect base from which to explore the island. Comfortable and very well equipped, this is a much loved home that she kindly shares. We found a huge range of local information at the property but best of all, Jacky was always available to help us with any query. Many thanks again!”
“Just fabulous! What a lovely welcoming home. In a gratefully quiet location with country views and a gorgeous garden, a great base to go exploring from which to explore the island. Jacky was so thoughtful, flexible and attentive which just added to making an enjoyable holiday . Thank you both so much, I would love to do this again.”
“Thank you for letting us use your house. We had a lovely break. Your house was clean, comfortable and situated in a well serviced, friendly village. We particularly enjoyed the choice of footpaths available from the house, the stunning scenery and sea views on our dog walks. You left clear instructions on the facilities in the house and local places to visit. We would very much recommend this as a house swap. ”
“The house is in a beautiful area with great walking and hiking routes leading to the lighthouse and cliffs overlooking an amazing sea view. Some good traditional English pubs and quaint villages are nearby. We had a lovely time on the island and loved our stay in this cosy and comfortable house. We enjoyed our meals in the spacious and well equipped kitchen which had a great view of the garden. Jacky is a wonderful host who was kind and thoughtful leaving us some supplies before our arrival and communicated well before and throughout our stay. Thank you so much, Jacky!”
“Well maintained and well equipped House. Beautiful flowers in the garden. There were 5 of us in the house and it was big enough for us all. Jacky very kindly left us some supplies and there were plenty of towels etc. This house is a home not just a holiday home so we weren’t short of anything. The Village which is a short walk away was so cute. We eat in the pub The White Lion twice. Highly recommend as all our meals were great. We had another nice meal in The Buddle Inn and drove to The White Horse in Whitwell which was quite lively and had a huge menu. All the pubs were dog friendly which was great for us. The Isle of Wight is pretty dog friendly in general. We had 2 great days on the beach with our dog at Yaverland and Priory Bay St. Helen’s. Everywhere seems to be driving distance around the Island. We visited The Pearl Museum in Freshwater and was able to bring our dog in with us and had a huge lunch in their cafe. We went to the Needles which is very touristy and then got the bus up to The Battery which is really interesting and great views. Thank you Jacky for allowing me to bring my parents and Aunty. They had the best time and we all have lovely holiday memories that we can look back on now.”
“It is incredibly cosy and I slept so well. Comfy easy chairs, underfloor heating and a secure garden all made for a very comfy stay. Jacky kindly accepted our dogs so that made for a full family holiday. The beach is not far away, a short drive, and we had fabulous walks. The weather wasn't great but that made it even more fun because of sea foam and the extraordinary waves. They were huge! Going out to the local pub for dinner and walking there and back was a huge luxury and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved our stay. Thank you very much Jacky!”
“Our stay at Jacky's was a five-star swap experience. She is the consummate host: communicative, helpful, easygoing and very welcoming. The house is very comfortable and there were plenty of clean sheets and towels as well as a well-stocked kitchen. The garden is great for kids to bop around in (respecting the plants of course!) and our kids spent half-days riding their bikes and scooters on the sidewalk in front of the house. There is a lovely children's park nearby for a quick escape, as well as tons of routes for walking and cycling. The grocery store in Niton is also compact yet very well-stocked. There is fresh local produce as well as island meats and brews. In all, we really couldn't have asked for more. We had a beautiful family vacation on the Isle of Wight, thanks to Jacky! ”
“We had a great time in Jacky's house. It's a lovely house in a lovely little village. Great for groups up to 5 people. Only a short drive from beautiful sandy beaches and perfectly located to explore the island. We had a fantastic time and could certainly recommend it to anyone. The communication with Jacky was very smooth too.”
“Jacky was a perfect guest. She left the cottage immaculately clean and would certainly be welcome back at any time. Thank you for the gifts you left Jacky! Linda”
“It was pleasure to correspond with and meet Jacky, and to have her stay in our home. This was my first swap and my main home, so I felt a little disorganized, and unsure of the level of preparation required etc. but Jacky was incredibly supportive and understanding. She gave me lots of advice and tips! She left the house in immaculate condition and I would be more than happy to have her, her husband and little dog Nellie (who left not a trace) come and stay again.”
“Wonderful guests, easy to communicate with and left our home spotless.”
Where is it?
The Isle of Wight is a popular tourist destination with lots to do. Many people say their holiday starts with the ferry journey and the feeling of stepping in to another world.
There is something for everyone. Family fun; dinosaur discovery; adventure sports; walking; cycling; music festivals; history and sightseeing or just enjoy sitting by the sea. There are also many remote and quiet areas away from the crowds even in the height of the summer season.
Niton village is a quiet and peaceful area on the very south coast of the Island. The more commercial areas are just a very short drive away. Niton has a good village grocery store and pubs within walking distance serving good food. See details on Facebook about Joe's bar serving great wood fired pizza and excellent home cooked food.
The house is a 10 minute walk from the coast path.
