About our home

Our 3 bed detached chalet bungalow is situated in the friendly village of Niton on southern tip of the Isle of Wight. The house was refurbished 4 years ago.

On the ground floor
 a modern fully equipped kitchen with fan oven, separate hob, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge and drier.
 lounge / dining room with comfortable settee, reclining chairs, TV with you-view box, WiFi and wood burner.
 a double bedroom with 5 foot bed
 shower room / toilet.
Upstairs –
 two further bedrooms, one single, one double with 5 foot bed
 bathroom with shower over bath / toilet.

Although this is a second home, the house is not a holiday home and is fully equipped.

There is no gas to the village but modern electric radiators are installed in all rooms.

Outside is a sheltered garden with outdoor seating and charcoal barbecue. There are cycles available for use.

To the front of the house are lovely views over open countryside. Badgers can be seen exploring the gardens at dusk and if lucky, red squirrels may be spotted.

Niton village centre is 5 minutes walk from the house. There are three pubs, all serving food, a very good village grocery shop, pharmacy and post office. An excellent fish and chip van visits the village on a Friday evening.

The coast path is a short walk from the house with spectacular views over the sea. Niton has an iconic lighthouse. There is a secluded bay within 20 minutes walk which although rocky, is safe for swimming. Sandy beaches are a short drive or bus ride away.

The Isle of Wight has a fabulous varied coastline with Victorian seafront promenades, safe sandy beaches, sheltered harbours and surf beaches. A third of the Island is classified as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, mostly owned by the National Trust.

Outdoor activities are well catered for with 500 miles of footpaths and many published cycle trails to suit all abilities. Dinosaur remains and fossils can be seen in areas like Compton Bay and Yaverland Beach. On the island’s western point, The Needles are 3 huge, white chalk rocks, guarded by a 19th-century lighthouse.

For all points swaps there will be a charge for cleaning and laundry based on the number of people staying. Please contact me for further details.

Where is it?

The Isle of Wight is a popular tourist destination with lots to do. Many people say their holiday starts with the ferry journey and the feeling of stepping in to another world.
There is something for everyone. Family fun; dinosaur discovery; adventure sports; walking; cycling; music festivals; history and sightseeing or just enjoy sitting by the sea. There are also many remote and quiet areas away from the crowds even in the height of the summer season.
Niton village is a quiet and peaceful area on the very south coast of the Island. The more commercial areas are just a very short drive away. Niton has a good village grocery store and pubs within walking distance serving good food. See details on Facebook about Joe's bar serving great wood fired pizza and excellent home cooked food.
The house is a 10 minute walk from the coast path.
