About our home

A semi-detached home in a quiet street in the small North Oxford area of Summertown. The house is on two floors, with two proper bedrooms and a smaller nursery with crib/cot. Perfect for a young family, like ours. The downstairs has been extensively renovated and is now very welcoming, with a large open-plan living room and a good sized diningroom. The kitchen is smallish, but contain all amenities (washer/dryer, etc). There is a lovely, quiet 145 foot back garden.

More about us

  1. Grace and Tim have lived at this address for over a year and have spent much of that time working on improving this house. Grace is a senior member of the Oxford University community, while Tim teaches Chemistry at a local secondary school. We are Americans but have lived in Oxford for approximately 10 years. We are expecting our first child at the end of March. We've not done a home exchange before, but with a newborn child it seems like the ideal way to still be able to travel. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the UK.

Where is it?

The house is on a very quiet side-street, in this delightful area of North Oxford. In walking distance is the Summertown shops and community. Summertown has an exclectic mix of restaurants, and the health club is welcoming to newcomers. Oxford centre is less than 15 minutes by bus, or a quaint 40 minute walk. By car, there is so much to see - the Cotswolds are not far to the West. London Paddington Station is one hour by train.
