About our home

We have a lovely, spacious and relaxed home with a large garden (about 1 acre). Its a perfect place to explore the heart of England- secluded and relaxed- but within easy reach of major towns and sights- and only 2 hours from London if you want to see the capital.

Most of the garden faces South and we have a lovely patio perfect for summer BBQs.

The house dates back to 1800 and has wonderful large rooms and high ceilings. There are lots of original features in the house as well as the mod cons- Wifi, satellite TV etc.

The well equipped kitchen dining room easily sits 12 round the table and was architect designed and built in 2008 with a double oven, large fridge freezer, dishwasher etc. There is a beautiful south facing living room for adults with a fireplace for open fires if you find yourself here on a chilly day and a large playroom for children, full of toys for tinies (and a Wii for the not so tinies) as well as a trampoline and zipwire in the garden.

Bedrooms are large and light - a double master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom , twin washbasins and shower (installed 2011) , a large family room (sleeps 4- one double bed and two 3' bunks), a double bedroom (two single beds), another double (one double bed) and a single bedroom. The large family bathroom has a bath and a shower, as well as a washbasin. There is a separate WC upstairs and another downstairs (also with a washbasin).

Downstairs there is a large bootroom for muddy dogs and people- this is warmed by an AGA- perfect for drying out damp coats! We also have a cot, high chair and buggy available for the smallest visitors. We have a large washing machine (takes 9kg) plus a tumble dryer and a line dryer.

The emphasis for us is to have a comfortable home, not a showcase- we have loads of books, games and a large TV- we want you to relax and unwind here!

We live in a lovely very friendly village on the picturesque River Avon with a good little shop and two pubs, close to Tewkesbury, Cheltenham with its wonderful shops and perhaps best of all lovely walking country- Bredon Hill just behind us and the Malvern Hills only a short drive away. We are 20 minutes from some beautiful Cotswold villages and about an hour from the wonderful Forest of Dean or from Stratford if you want to visit Shakespeare's birthplace. Sudely Castle (40 minutes), Croome Park (10 minutes) and Tewkesbury Abbey (15 minutes) are all within a short drive.

If you want day trips out we are in easy reach of Birmingham, Oxford and Bristol. London is just 2 hours by train from our local market town of Pershore.

Our cleaner will normally be available but we would have to confirm dates with her once any swap dates are agreed.
