About our home

Our cottage is full of character, but has all mod cons. Our pretty village is in the middle of glorious countryside, on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors (an area of outstanding Natural Beauty) and 25 mins to the ancient walled city of York. York is just a 2 hour train journey to London and the same to Edinburgh, Scotland. On our doorstep, there are so many beautiful places to visit and you won't be bored! There are castles, stately homes, museums, national parks and pretty villages with thatched cottages. There are golf courses and many country pubs to visit.
Take a very scenic 20/30 mins drive over the Moors to the lovely East Coast with it's pretty fishing villages
We have restored every room in our home over the 14 years we have been here and created a traditional English country garden with year round interest and lots of places to sit in and relax.
The lounge has beams and an open fire, whilst the snug has a multi fuel stove and patio doors to the sun trap private patio.
We have sky TV, with movies and sport, two LED 37ins TV's, blue ray player. We have a dishwasher, a large american fridge freezer, larder fridge, lots of kitchen gadgets and a large range cooker.
The master bedroom has a shower, toilet and vanity unit en suite and there is a family bathroom with roll top bath. There is another cloakroom downstairs with WC.
The two pretty guest rooms share the family bathroom and the fourth bedroom is being used as a large study.
We have unlimited download WIFI internet connection and a BOSE sound system.
