About our home

Listed thatched barn. Originally Charles Darwin's gardeners house. Set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, with walks cycle routes, golf & leisure facilities nearby.
Hawkstone follies, golf course & Motocross track & Hodnet Gardens are just up the road. Welsh border 10 mins & LLangollen, Wrexham Snowdonia, Shrewsbury within easy travelling distance & Chester 30 mins, Zoo & shopping.
Prees village is a short walk away:shop, post office, hairdressers & doctors, bus stop train station.
The oak barn has been fully restored with original features. We have a no smoking policy. Two bedrooms upstars. There is a tv with satellite channels toaster microwave full size cooker and wifi. Electric gates and parking.
The barn is self contained and you will have sole use. The property is set in 3 acres
We are on a cycle route. Near to Prees village. Other villages nearby include Market Drayton, Hodnet, Hadnall, Wem
The barn is down a country lane. Surrounded by beautiful walks etc but only a few minutes drive to local towns and tourist attractions.

  1. We are a couple with a teenage son.

  2. We have a large Business park in Whitchurch and run a skincare company Elegance Natural Skin Care

  3. We love traveling and love our motor home. My mum lives in Cyprus. Simon had a horrific car accident in 2016 and is still undergoing treatment.

Where is it?


In rural North Shropshire quiet but near major roads A41 A49. Half an hour from Chester Telford Shrewsbury and Wrexham. Nearby Hawkstone famous for its motorcross.
Snowdon Chester zoo are good day trips out. Llangollen with its International music festival and steam railway. Lots of golf clubs Hawkstone Hillvalley The ice-ream fam at Tattenhall, Alderford Lake Plenty to see and do
