About our home

The house is located in a private estate of houses built in the Regency period, and preserves many of its original features, including fireplaces, sash windows with wooden shutters, and moulded plaster ceilings. The house has 5 storeys. There are four good-sized double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dining room, two living room plus a TV room.

The house faces onto a communal green shared by all the houses in the estate. At the back of the house is a private walled garden.


More about us

  1. We are a lawyer and a judge, both working in central London, with a daughter aged 22, just finished university and a son aged 14 at secondary school. The house is full of books and music, and there is a piano - and a gaming PC!

Where is it?


The house is located in Clapham in south London, approximately 4 km from the centre of the city. Clapham is an attractive quarter of the city, with many original shops and (very!) many bars and restaurants. There is a huge park (Clapham Common), with recreational facilities. The main street of shops, supermarkets cinema and restaurants is located within 150m of the house, and the park is closer still.

It is in Zone 2 for public transport, and there is an Underground (metro) station just 100m from the house. Travel time to the centre of London by metro is c.15 minutes.
