About our home

Our second home is a charming Grade II listed Georgian period cottage garden-apartment, approx 60 sq. metres, which we sometimes use as a self-catering holiday home. The living room area has original oak beams on the ceiling, there is a bright compact modern cottage kitchen leading out to our delightful little walled garden with bistro table and chairs and wooden garden chairs.
Our cottage bedroom, with a double bed, has plenty of clothes storage space.

Neighbourhood

Ripon is an historic cathedral market town in North Yorkshire. The Cathedral dates back to the 7-8th Century.
The areas around Ripon are regions of stunning English countryside, with rolling hills, countless sheep, dry stone walls and quintissential North Yorshire villages, castles and stately homes. There's micro breweries
and larger ones, country pubs, country inns.........
Our cottage apartment is very centrally located and is a few minutes easy walk to the Cathedral, old market square and all the town's facilities, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, coffee shops, shops, art and craft galleries.
There is plenty to see and do in and around Ripon, Fountains Abbey (a UNESCO World Heritage site), York is 28 miles (46 kms) Harrogate 12.5 miles (19 kms). The North Yorkshire Moors National Park and The Yorkshire Dales National Park (50 mins by car) are great places for walking or hiking. Ripon's race course has been voted as the best small race course in England.
