About our home

Bramley Tree is the perfect, peaceful family home. Nestled in 1.5 acres of landscaped garden, orchard and grounds with no immeadiate neighbours it has so many wonderful things to offer as a holiday destination.
Fully renovated 5 years ago the house has beautiful oak floors throughout the ground floor and is fully-carpeted ( this year) upstairs. We have a large custom-built family kitchen, complete with oil-fired AGA and big kitchen table ( seats 8). All the rooms face South so our home is light and warm. The sitting-room has a large-screen TV and a log-burner. Above the pool room is the Den with a home-cinema systems, lots of games and toys ( both electronic and more traditional ) and a comfortable sofa bed, it makes a great bedroom for older kids or teenagers! We spend most of the summer in the garden and love to cook outside. Herefordshire is justifiably known for it's excellent produce and particularly the meat, which we cook on either the gas barbecue or our large open-fire grill.
The charming small town of Ross-on-Wye, where you can find a good selection of independent shops and a large supermarket is 5 mins drive, or 45 mins by canoe! We are just 2 mins walk to the river and what glorious walks you will have! Our home is next to Backney common and Backney beach, which are semi-private, so very peaceful. Fish for salmon (if you are lucky!) barbel and tench on your doorstep.
We have a lot of "toys" which will keep families of any age happy. There is a trampoline (with safety cage) on the bottom lawn. We have bikes for all ages in the garage, and that canoe you'll need for days on the river! Our indoor pool is warm and welcoming all year round, and the jet system is enormous fun for kids and adults alike. Enjoy a glass of champagne or even local Broome farm cider whilst star gazing in our 8 person hot-tub.

The surrounding area is beautiful with many attractions. Hereford, home of the Mappa Mundi is 20 mins away. Genteel, Regency Cheltenham is 40 mins and well worth the drive as it has wonderful shops, fab restaurants and a bit of a mini up-market London feel about it. The Cotswolds are with-in easy reach in one direction whilst the wonderful Welsh countryside and beaches can be found in the opposite direction. Bristol and Bath are both easy to get to and fascinating to visit.
If, like us, peace, quiet and unspoilt countryside is your thing, then that is what we offer in abundance. At night the skies are huge and filled with stars, by day the loudest sounds you are likely to hear are the cries of a flock of Canada Geese as they fly overhead towards the river.
We feel enormously lucky to have found and restored our little piece of heaven and look forward to sharing it with you one day.
