About our home

We bought and completely refurbished our beautiful and now large house in 2014. The main house is a beautiful Victorian villa and was built in 1890 with nearly all of the original features including a black marble fireplace, coving and stained glass windows. We have lovingly restored the house back to its former glory as well as adding a very large open plan, high spec modern kitchen with all mod cons, (2 dishwashers, 2 washing machines & dryer, utility room, wine fridge, large 47" 3D HD TV and integrated sound system, granite worktops) and also includes a dining and seating area which totals about 82m2. The whole room has underfloor heating + radiators and a large wood burner to keep it really cosy in the colder months.
We designed the house to have lots of people to stay as our family live far away and we love socialising. Most of the beds have memory foam (Tempur) mattresses so are very comfortable. There are 8m of bi-folding doors that open onto the large deck so you can open them all up to feel like you're outside even when you're in the kitchen.

There are 4x king size double bedrooms and 2x twin rooms and 1 x bunk room with a cot for a baby, (so the house could easily sleep 15 if 1 or more are children).

The Victorian house has been decorated in a more traditional style with a baby grand piano, and antique furniture and we have replaced the whole roof in 2016. The modern kitchen extension is more contemporary with modern art and furniture.

There is a drawing room for the adults to relax in and a separate playroom with loads of DVDs and toys for the kids. There is also an original Victorian conservatory which has been converted to a kids' craft room.

The 4 bathrooms are new and have large walk in showers and underfloor heating with towel rail radiators. There are also 2 large baths.
We have a garden for children to play or for the adults to relax on the large deck.
There is parking on the drive for up to 5 cars and a large garage full of bikes, scooters and bouncy castle etc. so if you fancy a bike trip there are many places locally you can visit.

We are 1.5 hours on the direct train to central London (Clapham Junction or Victoria Station) from Angmering, our nearest station, so it's very easy to go for the day and we frequently do to see friends and family. We are also only 45 mins from London's Gatwick Airport and there is also a direct train from Littlehampton, Angmering or Ford.

Rustington is a small town by the sea. It has everything you need such as shops, banks, cafes, coffee shops, post office, pubs, Churches, dry cleaners etc all within a few minutes walk from the house. There are also good language courses a short drive from the house. We would be prepared to swap one or more of our cars (2 automatic and 1 manual). We are 10 mins walk from the beach and we go almost every day as we have a gorgeous and gentle black Labrador who is part of the family. She will probably not come with us but go to a friend's house whilst you are staying unless you want to look after her!

There are lots of good restaurants locally and lots of local attractions such as golf, miniature train rides, soft play, amusement parks and great walks and, of course, a sandy beach and dunes. I've listed lots of them in the Neighbourhood Section.

We have 3 kids who are really good and love to travel. We have had 5 fabulous swaps to Spain, Majorca and France and we really would love to swap our house again so please get in touch if you're interested in coming to our part of the world. You won't regret coming to stay in our house. We are open to swap offers for 1-4 weeks at a time so please get in touch. Our dates have been updated in our availability calendar and we can be available to swap during most school holidays or half terms. We look forward to hearing from you. We would love to swap for a ski chalet in the winter or a house near water with a pool (and tennis court) in the summer ideally in southern Europe by the sea. We are also looking for Sri Lanka/ Singapore/ Australia for up to 3 weeks at Xmas 2018. Thanks!
